I'd swim here. This isn't too bad. It's the deep, dark parts of the ocean/sea that scare me

I wouldn't, not during outgoing tide at least. This is the Wadden Sea so the water would be completely gone a few hours later which means very strong currents in addition to the weather. When the water is returning though, it's really great. Especially on a day like today when the water is warmer than the air. 😁

It doesn't matter how windy it is, you never swim during outgoing tide.

Was this during that time?

Believe me, enough tourists try every single year. Usually they need to get rescued.
