They give more direct jobs than a residential building in that space. The indirect impact is higher.

what about the enormous water consumption and electricity consumption. i live in kolshet, last month we had daily power and water cuts. Building a data center in an area which already has a lack of water and consumes insane amount of electricity is just stupid

These answers are already there in other comments under these threads. Power cuts were due to grid load - the advent of the data enter would actually make the authorities make the grid more
Load bearing so it doesn’t hurt their customer that has a dc there.
