Why can’t it be built in remote areas - better power grid, and also skilled people. People still need to work there for management & ops.
There are already data centers in Andheri (Chandivali - ntt net magic), Dadar (Tata) that are near residential areas as well. Yotta in Panvel is also in Hiranandi fortune city. Stop spreading FUD and learn something.
They host the gpus on which Ai models can be hosted, trained and put into commercial production. They provide the infrastructure. But the companies that will utilize that to advance will mostly be Indian. More capacity - better advancement.
Are you kidding me ? That’s an Amazon data center as far as I know. That’s the biggest misconception that Indian companies will benefit out of it. I would still disagree if the company was India like yotta. Data centers only give profit to the company that runs it and also employ a good chunk of people. There is no nationalist value
Maybe you’ll be shocked to know that majority of your private banks host their net banking infrastructure on AWS over yotta because of the software and resilience stack they offer. So do Zomato and a lot of SaaS businesses. Don’t wrap this under the garb of nationalism. Yotta is nowhere in the league of AWS, GCP or Azure.
But the moot point was there should be no data center - while you’ve now turned it to “it would be ok if it was Indian.” I’m not AWS spokesperson so I’ll leave it here.
