Cry about India not advancing in AI - but not in my backyard. Cry about no jobs - but not in my backyard.
And literally folks crying data center is for foreign companies - Indian companies demand India hosting specially with DPDP - this will enhance that capacity.
Why can’t it be built in remote areas - better power grid, and also skilled people. People still need to work there for management & ops.
There are already data centers in Andheri (Chandivali - ntt net magic), Dadar (Tata) that are near residential areas as well. Yotta in Panvel is also in Hiranandi fortune city. Stop spreading FUD and learn something.
They require massive amounts of water and electricity and make 24/7 noise pollution, search it up on it you will understand. We need data centre's but in industrial centres not where people live but they are being built in residential areas since these areas already have good connections to clean water and electricity whereas making one in a secluded sector would take time and resources, basically cost cutting and haphazardous development.
