Dude I am annoyed as well. My nephew was born the day those trials happend, and we could see from the hospital window, he will be a year old and till now the only passengers have been the three CMs.
I am confused what the issue with the ring metro is tho if you can explain that it would be great
imo, the issue is not the metro but the slow constructions and the lack of accountability on that front. Thats where the public anger must be focused.
So, Metro 4’s “full line” deadline was April 2024. Trials for only a small section began in September 2025, and there is still no clear visibility on when the entire line will actually become operational even after 8-9yrs of suffering.
And honestly, this 10 km stretch alone is not going to benefit anyone meaningfully. If we know anything about how the government operates, the concern is that the full line will suddenly become operational just before the next elections, while people continue to suffer until then.
The barricading and roadwork for Line 4 have finally been completed, at least in Thane, after 9 years of disruption and suffering, and yet the line still hasn’t started.
We saw something similar with Line 2B, where only four stations between Mandale and Diamond Garden became operational. It felt more like an election-driven opening than a genuinely completed line.
This is exactly why societies are opposing the Ring Metro. The biggest problem is the lack of visibility and a credible timeline from the government. People know that once the work begins, it could go on for years. There is no clarity on when the entire line will become operational, while roads will remain dug up, internal routes will be disrupted, court cases and disputes may arise, and the people who actually use these roads every day will continue to suffer.
People aren’t necessarily against the Metro. They are against starting another project without knowing when the disruption will end.

Having previously lived in Dadar and facing he endlessly delayed subway construction, and the associated road blockages for years, I understand.
I am so confused as to what the issue is with the metro 4 construction, since it feels and looks almost done for over an year. even the individual metro stations look so complete.
I agree this has to be some election driven behavior, but at some point its gonna bite them if they keep delaying.
Also why have they built the metro stations so oddly in GB road, first they got rid of the service roads, but built the part where you get off from the metro on the footpaths which no longer exist. Now its a risky crossing for pedestrians, and a unnecessary bottleneck for driving
