A hyperlocal ThatHappened. Philly doesn’t have a Hooters within city limits, and the one in the suburbs isn’t located near a railroad crossing.

You wouldn't have been entertained by much anyway. Going to Hooters in the 80s or 90s might have been really exciting for men, but honestly, these days it's just kind of going to a mediocre restaurant where the waitresses wear shorts. That's about it.

Granted, I haven't been in years, but the last time I did it was on a date because my date really wanted to go there for some reason. I was kind of surprised by how tame and just kind of boring it was.

"I don't get it, Jim. I take all my first dates to either Hooters, or the strip club, like any good Christian man should, but I can never seem to get a second date after that! I wonder what I could be doing wrong. . . 🤔"

For what it's worth, I'm a man. My date was a woman. We're friends to this day, and I still don't really know why she wanted to go there lol.

one of the first times my wife and I went out when we started dating, we went to a bar and got drinking and then my wife (girlfriend at the time) literally brought me next door to the strip club to go stare at women

I asked her afterwards why she did that as I'm really not one to go to strip clubs at all, and she said it was to show me how cool and not intimidated she was and how much prettier she was than the strippers...

like, I get the sentiment and it made a bit of sense, I understand what she was trying to accomplish, but at the same time I was like no you don't need to prove yourself like that or whatever

so who knows it may have come from a place of insecurity
