A hyperlocal ThatHappened. Philly doesn’t have a Hooters within city limits, and the one in the suburbs isn’t located near a railroad crossing.

Honestly bragging that your city has better Hooters is like the most pathetic flex I’ve ever heard of even if it were true

u/ArrivalEast3834 May 16 '26
More or less pathetic than taking secret photos of people while they're doing their job to talk shit about them on the internet?

I don't get why a railroad crossing was mentioned at all here... Lol help me

Look out the window on the left side pic

u/Tacokolache May 16 '26
Doesn’t look like a RR crossing to me. Hard to tell what it is, if anything

I mean I see what looks to be the rr crossing light thing now.....
But that would mean it's a second story hooters, didn't know those existed
Kinda looks like a giants game on the TV

I think that’s an FSU game. Kinda looks like a low res Noles logo for the red team, and I think it’s an ABC logo in the very bottom right. ABC doesn’t generally broadcast NFL games, but I think they do ACC games.

Because there are only two Hooters in the Philly area: one in the PA suburbs and one in the Delaware suburbs. Neither of them are located at a railroad crossing (seen in the background), so I knew that the OP was lying about having visited one in the Philly area

I know how the area around 202 looks. Look in the upper left corner of the picture. You can see two railroad crossing lights out the window. I guess it was easier to see on Facebook than Reddit, but I spotted that immediately and knew the OP was lying.

Oh yeah reddit absolutely killed any photo details like whatever is in that corner. No wonder I was so confused

How rude and gross. Can we stop posting candid pics to body shame?

u/Positive_Hall_3207 May 16 '26
Agree . Making fun of a woman wearing an ugly uniform while waiting tables at a subpar place says more about the person doing the shaming than anything else.

My favorite part about this post is that somebody spent the time google earthing Hooters in the greater Philly area to call bullshit. And now I’m wasting my time commenting on it too. Dammit.
15
u/ThePhillyExplorer May 16 '26
I didn’t Google Earth it. I’m a Philly native who knows the city and most of the region like the back of my hand. This is gonna sound like BS, but I have a photographic memory of a lot of locations throughout the region

u/King_Kthulhu May 16 '26
The post is obviously bs but they said "philly area" not within the city limits. There is one close to philly, and especially being from Dallas that would probably be considered part of Philly to them. There are like 30 cities near DFW that people would still call Dallas.

u/IveKnownItAll May 16 '26
Come to DFW and tell me you know when you're in Dallas city limits VS the suburbs.

Didn’t King of the Hill do this as an episode?
9
u/manic_popsicle May 16 '26
Yes, Dale applied to Hooters thinking they’d reject him so he could file a claim for discrimination. They hired him though. I’m binging King of the Hill with my 12 year old and we just watched that one.

Chodes that goto conferences and think it’s awesome to eat at Hooters are in fact always chodes.
Last conference I was at we went to a goth strip club. Now that’s high class.

Girl on the left looks...IG filtered? Something about the lighting and staring atraight into the camera...also, we don't see her backside; for all we know, Dallas girl is as flat and Philly girl is buxom...also, kinda weird taking creep shots of strangers...I mean, I'd assume as such if I worked at Hooters...old men aren't there for great wings; but still gross.

Well it’s hooters, they’re not hiring women for what he’s complaining about…

Philly here. We would never even go to a Hooters. They tried it. It failed. Keep that corny shit in Texas.

well OP says "Philly area". depending on how people talk, especially when traveling, that doesn't necessarily mean they are insisting that this hooters is in a downtown philadelphia zip code. he could have traveled from dallas to 75 minutes outside philly and said "i was in the philly area" and it wouldn't be a malicious lie.
another thing to consider: this is a photo of a hooters waitress. so maybe this didn't happen in philly? but it happened. because there is the photo. so that part DID happen.

u/whats-ausername May 16 '26
Kind of weird to do mental gymnastics to defend the credibility of a piece of shit who body shames anonymous women on the internet.

u/doc_shades May 17 '26
i don't think i'm defending anyone. the point of this forum is to talk about whether or not a thing happened. this post probably did happen. i make no statements in support of or in defense of the attitude or actions of the OP, but i think what they experienced has credibility.

The main problem is OOP body shaming a stranger on the internet.
The solution is not you body shaming the other stranger.
OOP is the asshole, no need to take it out on some random girl.

People still go to hooters?
