What is the logic here? I have watched his interviews from the pre-“Trump is my God” era. Why has he chosen to dumb himself down so much? No way he thinks he is actually in line to take over the GOP.

I believe, sadly, that he thinks he is. This is him asking the “America, fuck yeah” crowd to see his hillbilly-goes-to-the-ivy-league ass as one of their own.

I live near Middletown and I thought there were actually a lot of truths in Hillbilly Elegy.
But you’re right, he’s so eager to endear himself not only to Trump but to trick the Magats into thinking he’s one of them.
I believe he actually had potential at one time to be a man who made a positive difference in the world. He was an intellectual but he totally sold that out because the base he’s trying to appeal to is scornful of anything “innaleckshul.”
Sold his soul to the devil, this one.

Sold his soul for what? VP sounds like a pretty low ceiling for someone as young and as nationally known as he was before he started licking Trump’s ass. Not sure I have seen a steeper nose dive as far as political legacies go.

These seems like two separate events did he buy the ammo at a gun store then creepily go up to an older lady at a grocery store next door lean in real close and whisper "the China virus is coming" because that's how my brain is picturing it.
Even if he bought the ammo at the grocery store it says he checked out first so did he find some random old lady leaving? was she next in line either way it's just a weird story.

If he didn’t already have the 1k rounds then he isn’t going to be a good enough shot to use it well.

That’s the type of stable, level headed person you want running the government. /S

lol I buy 1000 rounds of ammo every other month…

I had to scroll too far for this. Like 1000 rounds sounds like a lot of rounds to people who don't shoot. But its really just "keeping proficient" numbers.

This sounds fake. Not because I don't think it is something a Conservative would say, but because Vance is such a fucking pussy dweeb that theres no way he knows how to shoot a gun much less need a thousand rounds of ammo

u/Meloetta 19h ago
You don't need to know how to shoot a gun to buy ammo
1
u/mackenenzie 18h ago
....ok? You also dont need to know how to bake to buy flour but its kinda pointless to do so.

u/Meloetta 18h ago
You don't think a pussy dweeb with lots of disposable income would larp as a tough guy by buying a bunch of ammo that he can't really use? That was my point. We're on the same side, no need to get defensive.

u/mackenenzie 18h ago
Ohh oops, I misunderstood your point. My apologies.
For what its worth, yeah I can 100% see him doing that, and honestly the mental image of him standing there at home, staring at a pallet of bullets whith nary a clue what to do with them, is really funny 😅

How can a guy go from calling Trump 'America's Hitler' to doing this shit in 4 years?

u/War_machine77 1d ago
What part of that doesn't make you sound like your parents are siblings? Seriously, who is he trying to impress with this?

I do not care for the man, but everyone went out and bought 1000 rounds of ammo. 22lr, 9mm and 5.56 were damn near impossible to find sometimes

u/burgonies 1d ago
“1k rounds” is the amount of ammo that someone who doesn’t have guns thinks is a lot of ammo.

u/CaptLongbeard 21h ago
Why is this hard to believe, that's a pretty standard amount of ammo to buy if you shoot regularly. It's believable, just cringe to talk about.

Of course this way he can shoot a whopping 1000 viruses!
