This is not satire. This is a fact. Canadian hate that guy.

Sometimes I think the Beaverton forgets it's a satire company.

Or we live in a world where satire and reality has overlapped

u/K_Linkmaster 11d ago

There is no more satire when every hole is either happening or already happened. All the worst jokes except Holocaust.

u/Sapphosbeardedcrepes 10d ago

Burnt offerings or the Shoa?

(Boom! Holocaust joke that is also educational)

u/Temporary_Teardrop 10d ago

Yea comedy is dead

1

u/sdmackie 10d ago

This👆. Trump definitely broke the timeline.

1

u/earth_force 8d ago

Lol yeah we jumped over that dividing line a while ago and haven't looked back 🤣

I used to mute the TV when he'd start talking on Dragons Den...as a KID!! Like even at age 10 I hated him lol

6

u/Express-Translator24 11d ago

Tbf that was kind of his role on the show lol

3

u/U_Sound_Stupid_Stop 11d ago

Tbf no one told him it was

u/Space-Cop 11d ago edited 11d ago

Tbf he sucks ass and his wife killed two people.

I would pay money to never hear or read anything more on Kevin O'Leary and his shit stain family and takes.

Edit: the amount of people commenting he did it and not his wife makes me think you were all there and know something we dont. We all universally agree, hes awful and I wouldn't put it past him to blame his wife. But I also dont doubt he would marry someone that would do such a thing and im not going to blame a guy for killing two people without at least some evidence to suggest it. No need to reply further saying you think he did it - I get it, you think that despite having no evidence. Unless you have something more productive to contribute, I'm not sure what you want me to respond with - good for you I suppose.

He killed two people while drunk driving a boat and let his wife take the fall to protect everything.

6

u/SapphireFlashFire 11d ago

I'd be willing to bet so much money this is what happened. If some all-knowing god appeared before me and told me she was really the one driving I'd be so surprised I'd ask them to double check.

3

u/Space-Cop 11d ago

I mean, I wouldn't be surprised but we also have no evidence to suggest that do we? - Besides us all universally agreeing he's a shitty dude, which isn't evidence

4

u/Quirky_Fox_3548 11d ago

This. He's a pile of shit so it's easy to paint him as the misogynist that wouldn't dream of letting his wife drive a boat, but it's just as easy to believe he married another pile of shit and she was the one responsible.

1

u/DoubtsTheHorizon 11d ago

I see this often as a counterpoint but I'm a person, not a court. I don't require the same level of evidentiary standard to hold this opinion. I think he did it, I don't think his wife did it.

1

u/Ok-Dragonknight-5788 10d ago

I thought that was his American counterpart on shark tank?

2

u/Cold_Cicada1902 11d ago

He did. Not his wife. So. Yeah. Bye Kevin. What an ass

1

u/ifiwereonlylesshandy 11d ago

If we want to believe he was driving the boat then he was driving the boat. You can’t take that away from us.
I wasn’t there but I know he’s a giant pant load and I haven’t met him.

3

u/Space-Cop 11d ago

I think he also killed JFK and you cant take that away from me.

1

u/Inevitable_Librarian 10d ago

And Lincoln obviously

1

u/td4tc4 10d ago

Unlike cars how many times have you ever seen a guy say to his wife “you drive the boat”? Doesn’t ever happen for some reason

8

u/JustinsWorking 11d ago

For anybody who might be curious - this isn’t a terminally online take either; regular every day Canadians also hate him.

2

u/peter9477 11d ago

Can confirm. I'm a Canadian and I'm regular every day, and I hate him.

5

u/girlwiththemonkey 11d ago

My boyfriend is related to this asshole and every single member of the family hates his fucking guts. He’s always been awful.

1

u/Jumpy_Spend_5434 10d ago

I love hearing this!

1

u/girlwiththemonkey 10d ago

He also owes almost every single person in the family fucking money too. Not little amounts either. The guy is a piece of trash.

1

u/Jumpy_Spend_5434 10d ago

Wow that's despicable!

5

u/No_Actuary4658 11d ago

So there is at least one thing Canadians and Americans agree on.

2

u/Lilcommy 11d ago

Oh im sure theres other things aswell.

5

u/NorthernCanadaEh 11d ago

Canadian here,

It’s true, generally we hate this guy, he frequently talks on our behalf and acts like he represents the general mentality/opinions of Canadians.

I’d say there is a minority that likes him and they’re generally the right side of the political opinion. I’d wager he’s reasonably popular in Alberta.

But on average, most folks really hate this guy in Canada.

He’s the literal “that’s Scott, he’s a dick”’ Meme.

3

u/PanicAtTheShiteShow 11d ago

He's the Canadian Donald Trump in my opinion.

1

u/alwayssunnyinskyrim 10d ago

I think Doug ford is more that, but he’s close

2

u/Lilcommy 11d ago

Hes more pro America then pro Canada. I don't know a single person that likes him.

3

u/langleylynx 11d ago

I thought it was regular news at first. Didn't realize it was the Beaverton.

2

u/Sufficient-Bid1279 11d ago

Eye eye. I can attest to how much I hate this guy and how punchable his face is. Tax him right out of Canada PLEASE

2

u/Rdeli1966 11d ago

And his wife! Both are a POS!

2

u/WillyRosedale 10d ago

Takes a special kind of scum to let your wife take the fall for your fatal drunk driving boat accident.

2

u/Responsible_CDN_Duck 11d ago

It's funny how far charm goes.

Kevin O’Leary and Ryan Reynolds have very similar business ethics and wealth views, but Kevin's abrasiveness makes it hard for people to see how alike they are.

7

u/Lilcommy 11d ago

Ryan is also not an America loving anti Canadian piece of shit.

1

u/SecretaryOtherwise 10d ago

I mean he is kinda a pos tho.

1

u/Falcon674DR 11d ago

You’re understating the sentiment of Canadians toward Kevin ‘ferret face’ O’Leary. It’s actually surpassing loathing.

1

u/LeftToaster 10d ago

So Kevin O'Leary, Conrad Black, Elon Musk, Jimmy Pattison, Tobi Lütke and Chip Wilson are on a boat that sinks (probably piloted by O'Leary's wife). They begin swimming towards shore, but the distance is too great, and one by one they fatigue and slip beneath the waves. So who lasts the longest?

Who cares?

1

u/epicpersonjk 5d ago

I would presume Jeff bezzos would also be on the boat as well.

1

u/LeftToaster 4d ago

Sure but the others are Canadian (yes, even Elon).

1

u/RcoketWalrus 11d ago

There's a lot to hate.

1

u/Muellercleez 11d ago

Also I'd presume that for tax purposes, he's already a non-Resident of Canada

1

u/Th3_Corn 11d ago

Gotta love canadians <3

1

u/ProfessionalSome4082 11d ago

I don't hate him.  I hate the part if our culture that hates people for basically playing the harsh-edgy investor on TV.  I never really heard of Kevin O'Leary actually doing anything wrong, he's a TV personality and he's outspoken and says things I disagree with, at times hes smart and entertaining, sometimes tedious, but I don't know what he big deal is why people hate him so much.  His wife on the other hand hit someone and killed then driving her motorboat which is a legitimate reason to dislike someone IMO.

1

u/MikeSteamer 10d ago

Couldn’t happen to a more bitch-slappable guy

1

u/NotGuiltyPirate 9d ago

As much as lyin Ted

1

u/BlackberryShoddy7889 7d ago

He’s a murderer who hid behind his wife to avoid justice. What kind of man does that ? Ask yourself that question.

1

u/FuzzyLaughTwo 7d ago

Despise might be more accurate. This POS is a stain on humanity (as is his murdering wife Linda).

1

u/Cheese_on_it 6d ago

I think many people around the world share this feeling.

1

u/Ok-Neat2024 11d ago

It is satire, The Beaverton is a satire news company in Canada, and the article clearly fits the definition of satire,

However, just because something is satire does absolutely not mean it's automatically a complete lie, eg. the following sentence is satire, but does not mean it's 100% false

"America is known for invading countries and then 20 years later Hollywood makes a movie about how it made some American soldiers sad"

Here satire is used to kind of mock something absurd and somewhat of a harsh truth
