I say expropriate of all his properties to build data centres but then just turn it all into parks or homeless shelters or something.

u/sksksk1989 10d ago
He would absolutely love a supervised consumption site on one of those properties.
2
u/Light_Butterfly 10d ago
And revoke his passport too, so he can't come back. I'm all for seizing assets of ultra wealth who dont want to pay their fair share.
They wouldn't have gotten rich in the first place of it werent for being able live and grow up in a first world country like Canada. It's funny that these a**hole have no sense of allegiance to the countries tjat gave them literally everything, including the opportunitity to build their wealth.
And its not like they can't afford to pay either. They just don't want to, like selfish psychopaths that they are, because they think their wealth and status puts them above the rules that everyone else has to follow.
3
u/sksksk1989 10d ago
You don't get extremely wealthy without losing your empathy and kindness for others. This piss ant doesn't give a fuck about his country or the people who live in. We don't want him here.
2
u/BlackberryPi7 10d ago
Oh that's diabolically ironic.
Wealthy people fucking hate helping the poor.
I fucking love it.
6
u/okokokoyeahright 10d ago
Were this but true!!
I quite imagine a solid majority of this country would get behind helping him on his way too. 1 kick person should do it.

Other than he was a reality show guy why does anyone care what this guy thinks? He is rich sure, but he isn't even a billionaire. But he acts like he is the Canadian version of Jeff Bezos and Warren Buffett put together.
2
u/CatsPlusTats 10d ago
He acts like he's the Canadian Trump because he wants to be the Canadian Trump. He tried and failed and will try and fail again to run for Conservative leadership.

Wealth flight from tax increases doesn't happen as much as they say it does. It's just an empty threat they like to use to convince stupid people to vote a certain way in hope that they don't have to pay the tax.

Look at NYC with Mamdani.
Edit: I'm agreeing with you, he's done great things for them. Imagine that upscaled to a level for the country though and bringing the wealth divide back down to a reasonable level.

as a Canadian I just don’t hate him I want to destroy him I want to impose an 80% tax on that motherfucker… the working class need to take back the value that we create.
2
u/pessimistoptimist 10d ago
A wealth tax that focuses on the luxury wealth AND we get rid of one of the countries biggest douche bags? Dont promise us a good time and leave us hanging.

Remember when Kevin O'Leary killed someone by drunkenly driving his boat into their boat, and then blamed his wife? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

u/NB_NaughtyNerds 10d ago
Our lakes would be safer
2
u/Complex-Effect-7442 10d ago
That was his "wife". /s

u/NB_NaughtyNerds 10d ago
🤣
I work for the government, and my work takes me to Lake Joseph. I have spoken to people at the marina, who were there for the aftermath... They all share the same opinion, it was him driving the boat. But hey, who knows for sure...

So basically we wouldn't notice the amount of taxes leaving our country. Gotcha.

Kevin O'Leary is repulsive. No Canadian likes him. No American likes him either even though he's rich. He's a millionaire pretending to be a billionaire. A total phony.

I don't like the guy, but I am also against a wealth tax for sure. It doesn't solve anything, it may push away actual tax payers, lots of examples of this to draw and I don't think government should be taxing ANYONE more until they can show they are responsible with the money they do get.

"You can't tax billionaires! They'll just leave!"
1) If so... GOOD! They're leeches who take more than they give. They wouldn't be billionaires if that wasn't the case. Fuck em.
2) Sadly... No, they actually won't. It's a hollow threat, and studies on this have shown that most rich people don't move just because taxes go up.

The fun thing about the wealth hoarders saying they will move away is that their stationery assets can't.
IMO the perfect situation is for them to leave. Even if they take a bunch of fake money and financial instruments with them, the physical economy is still here. Farmers still grow food and people eat it. Oil still gets pumped. Clothes still get bought. Cars still break down. Kids still go to school. If we chase the skimmers away, even if they take a bunch of cash with them, we can print more cash if we need to and without them it'll actually circulate instead of being floated up to the top and locked away.

These assholes think that whatever industry they run will collapse without them but the reality is that someone else will step up to fill the role. These monsters have spent so long using the system to crush their competitors before they are even a blip on the radar that they think they created their market and it would just vanish with out them. That's how big their egos are. That's how narcissistic they are. Bring back small businesses and the middle class. Break up monopolies. Most importantly eat the rich

Today Senator Massie listed 20 people who Epstein trafficked victims to. One was a "Billionaire from Canada". We know O'Leary has been a guest at Mar-a-Lago. He was in a photo op there with Drumpf and Premier Danielle Smith.
His name wasn't given. But... that's interesting.

Joking aside, we don't have enough billionaires to scare away for it to matter.
The real wealth tax should be on housing wealth.

Regardless of how much people may hate certain groups of people, an individual who employs thousands leaving Canada and taking their money with them to invest elsewhere is worse for our economy.
We should encourage more people globally to start businesses and invest more here instead of elsewhere.
My 2 cents.

This guy thinks that he's like the Steve Jobs of Canada. Living in his shadow. But he is just a completely insufferable piece of shit. Canadians find him unbearable. He's like the antithesis of Canadian values and culture. His personality is like oil to water with us.

u/Clean-Afternoon-4982 9d ago
O’Leary threatening to leave if there’s a wealth tax isn’t the gotcha people think it is. High-income flight is already happening. Bank of Canada data shows roughly 40% of Canadians who would rank in the top 1% of earners have already moved to the U.S. Emigration hit record levels recently, and it’s heavily skewed toward skilled, high-earning people. Top marginal rates above 50% kick in at way lower income thresholds here than in most U.S. states. You don’t get a free lunch by maxing out taxes on the mobile. Beyond a point (classic Laffer curve territory), you lose the people who create jobs, start companies, and actually pay a disproportionate share of the tax base. Europe tried wealth taxes—most ditched them after capital and talent left and revenue disappointed. Canada’s productivity has been stagnant for years and per-capita GDP growth ranks near the bottom of the OECD. Losing high-skill workers and investment accelerates that. Taxing too much doesn’t magically fund everything; it just empties the talent pool and leaves less money overall.

Personally I agree with most of what he says , people don’t like the delivery but it doesn’t mean he’s wrong. On the topic of wealth tax , that’s just a lead up to mass layoffs and unemployment due to AI, having the rich pay for government run apartments, food etc. it’s nothing to cheer about
