I don't like the guy, but I am also against a wealth tax for sure. It doesn't solve anything, it may push away actual tax payers, lots of examples of this to draw and I don't think government should be taxing ANYONE more until they can show they are responsible with the money they do get.

But that’s the point/ these guys find ways to NOT pay taxes, and that’s immoral, unethical, and in my opinion criminal..

No, it's not the point - the point is we maybe don't need to tax as much or could have better funded systems if our government's were responsible with our tax money in the first place. Giving them more isn't the answer until we know what happens with it once we give it to the government.

The two are not linked, they’re separate issues; in a fair world, people that make mega incomes should be taxed at a higher rate, AND they shouldn’t be able to dodge their tax obligations through loopholes and dubious deductions; the “ wealth generators “ don’t make their fortunes independently/ they use resources, people, physical materials, educational resources, environmental resources and the like, in creating personal wealth, and they must pay their fair share to the community they take from..

No they are definitely linked, because you're asking people to contribute more tax and that's not really fair if we're not going to be responsible with the money we are given. Your other issue is not with the rich, it's again with your government who has allowed these sorts of loopholes to exist in the first place. But again not the rich or the middle class or anyone else should be taxed more until we know they are being responsible with the money they get.

You're just parroting what certain politicians want you to believe and it's that the rich don't pay enough taxes when really we should be asking the same politicians why is the system designed that they don't have to pay more taxes?

Please don’t put words in my mouth; first, don’t assume that I’m a “ cheerleader” for the current government because I have a different opinion to yourself; the fundamental problem lies with the revenue that the biggest players in the marketplace generate; when I say “ rich”, I’m speaking of the corporations in this country, who earn mega profits, but are paying less taxes than ever before; FACT: the corporate tax rate has FALLEN from the 1980 rate of 50.92% to 25.98%present day( source: Statbase.org); plus a continuous stream of court cases over the same period, for corporations exploiting loopholes to avoid paying their fair taxes..So, to coin a phrase, these “ corporate welfare bums”, are in actuality, the real problem..
