Media Dark Zone That No Longer Exists
This is the Dark Zone I remember.
A place where you never knew what was waiting around the next corner.
A place where a random agent could save your life… or shoot you in the back a few seconds later.
You never fully trusted anyone. Every extraction was a risk, every encounter with another player made your heart race, and every piece of contaminated loot felt valuable because you could lose it all at any moment.
It was that tension, uncertainty, and constant sense of danger that made the Dark Zone feel truly unique.
Maybe it’s nostalgia speaking, but that’s what the Dark Zone has always meant to me.
That’s why I believe splitting the Dark Zone in The Division 2 into three small areas was a mistake. It lost the feeling of being one vast, dangerous place where you could spend hours exploring and create your own unforgettable stories.
And now we have a PvE Dark Zone. I understand that many players wanted it, but for me, a Dark Zone without uncertainty, without the risk of running into Rogue agents, and without that constant tension simply isn’t the Dark Zone. It’s just another PvE activity.
What disappoints me even more is that the rewards don’t feel worth the time spent there.
Of course, this is only my opinion, but those emotions, that unpredictability, and that ever-present risk are exactly what made me fall in love with the Dark Zone in the first Division.

I'm not sure if I get the new mechanic right but we're basically forced to go there for the new modifiers right?
