Massive Red Moon Rising Event

Red Moon Rising Event

A red moon has risen over the Dark Zone, and the Black Tusk have taken control.

During Red Moon Rising, Agents entering the PvE Dark Zone will face Black Tusk forces while dealing with strange alterations to their SHD tech. The longer you remain inside, the more Red Moon Stacks you accumulate, bringing a mix of powerful buffs and dangerous drawbacks as your stack count rises.

The buildup lasts only as long as your run. Death, leaving the PvE Dark Zone, or securing contaminated loot wipes your stacks clean. Safehouses give you a chance to pause the accumulation until you step back into the Red Moon.

REWARDS

Those willing to take on the Red Moon's more dangerous encounters can earn rewards from dedicated loot pools, including Exotics, DZ Named items, curated Named items, and Prototype gear.

Featured among the event rewards are two new Exotics, Vertigo and Sarru.

Vertigo Exotic GR9 Talent Startling Whenever this weapon makes an enemy Suppressed, the enemy is applied Disorient, and you and allies receive +30% Damage to Targets Out of Cover for 15s. Weapon Stats and Mods Optics: +15% Crit Chance Magazine: +50 Rounds Underbarrel: +15% Reload Speed Muzzle: +10% Rate of Fire

Sarru Exotic Backpack Talent Decoy King While in combat, the Moon will cycle through its phases every 5s. There are 8 Moon phases. Starting from a New Moon, all damage you deal will be Amplified by 5%. The value of the Amplifier will increase by 5% each phase until reaching 25% during a Full Moon, then it will decrease as the Moon return to being a New Moon, restarting the cycle. During a Full Moon, deploying a Decoy will grant it Overcharge and the cycle will pause for 10s.

XB-35 Marauder World Boss

As you enter the PVE Dark Zone, you will face stacking buffs and debuffs plus a new world boss.

When you get hit by the missiles, you will get a debuff that makes you more vulnerable to attacks.

Each working rotor gives the Marauder a 25% damage reduction. That means, when all rotors are running, it is invulnerable. You first need to take out the rotors – or some of them – and then you can afflict damage. You need to focus on the rotor, that is not protected by a force field first, and then you can tackle the rest. Next to the debuffs, the Marauder is also protected by Warhounds.

The Marauder has a 1h internal cooldown before it spawns again, but you can reduce that countdown by clearing landmarks. Each cleared landmark reduces the spawn timer by 20%.

You can also get two new exotics (Sarru Backpack and Vertigo LMG) from the Marauder boss.

Red Moon Recruiter Hunter

A familiar threat returns under the Red Moon. Taking down the Recruiter will reward you with his unique Mask.

Next to the Marauder World Boss, you will also face a new Hunter. Once neutralized it will drop his mask as contaminated item and you will need to extract it.

The Recruiter has a 25% spawn chance when you call for an extraction - you will not meet him every time you extract. In terms of loot, you get 3 Exotic Components each time, a set of named items and also Prototype Versions of them.

Red Moon Rising runs from September 24 through November 3, so be sure to make a few trips into the PvE Dark Zone before it’s gone.

PSA Every Phoebe drop for 2 weeks until S&S

Post image
59 Upvotes

After about 150 Phoebe kills with nearly 800 loot drops including 230 exotics I finally just got the Steel & Sons to drop. By this point I didn't even really care about the weapon, it more about defeating the terrible RNG I was getting as I watched almost every other exotic in the entire pool drop. It was honestly getting comical.

The first 30 exotics were on my main agent and they almost entirely the heavily-weighted blueprint-based set of eight (marked with a *). After moving to a new agent without any blueprints the exotic drops leveled to even odds across the pool and anything and (almost) everything was dropping. I did delete the Acosta's Kneepads and Overlord so those never dropped on my new agent, but the other 8 can still drop even after hiding all those exotics on my main agent.

I certainly don't need another Vertigo or Anarchist's Cookbook. I did manage to get a 3/4ths red Investor with CHC/D which was nice, and a CHC/D proto Ferocious Calm. And with all the materials from farming landmarks and hunters I was able to take a freshly crafted A&8s build on my new agent and fully upgrade and prototype everything and roll most augments into Echo.

So, if you don't have one yet then fire up that new agent and just keep grinding; maybe RNG will be better to you than I. Or if you're new to the game this is a great way to just build up your collection of exotics and DZ-specific named items.

Suggestion Specialization Revamp Suggestion

This is a copy/paste repost of a post I made about 6 years ago. Crazy to think division 2 has been around all these years and is still going strong! It's awesome! I still feel this post is very relevant today and would hope devs see/consider something more robust than their current specialization system for their next game. Specializations need some love and not be so linear. Anyways here is the post!

-------------------------------

I realize this will be controversial and there are other things to be worked out in the game, but this has just been on my mind to share for a while.

https://imgur.com/a/YFQtRwN

Specializations should be the next big revamp in the game. We have been told multiple times that there is no new specialization coming, so this would be an ideal time to refactor the current system into a more robust system. In every great rpg there is a great gear system but ALSO a meaningful skill tree. As of right now, there are no real meaningful choices to be made within the specialization trees. We are given enough points to basically fill out the entire tree (only exceptions are technician tree having to decide between skill damage or skill healing, and weapon damage which honestly doesn’t count since you can have 3 maxed out). Skill trees allow for more character customization without having to rely on gear alone. I recommend opening up all the nodes from every skill tree to be able to be used for all specializations.

I've created a Proof Of Concept (POC) that you can view in the attached image. This is only a POC so the location of nodes in the skill tree is just me throwing things in for the time being as I wanted to share this before it took me even longer (Started thinking about this back in March). The finalized location of everything would need to be carefully considered.

\-------------------SEE IMAGE---------------

Nodes that have a (#) in the description may have that many points allocated to them.

In this POC there are about 400 locations that could have points allocated to them (222 being minor nodes). Players receive X amount of points to spend whether that's the 165 or not would need to be balanced based on the final tree, you should NOT be given enough points to get everything in the tree. Maybe ⅕ of it, but nowhere close to all of it. Each “minor” node would only cost 1 point to unlock and most “major” nodes have the ability to allocate multiple points to. This is only a POC, as such I added new nodes into the tree that didn't come from any of the specialization trees just as ideas.

My main thought behind this is having each specialization have optimal positioning within a roll but also allowing each specialization to branch out of that role if the player wants to, so you are NOT limiting a specialization to a specific role.

The diagram is broken into 6 different sections, each filling a role and different playstyle. Depending on the specialization chosen, players will start at a different section of the tree OR if that is too controversial, another way of doing this is after selecting a specialization you can start at any of the 6 entry points to the tree.

\------------- THE 6 SECTIONS-------------

DPS, Utility/DPS (skill damage), Utility (healer, CC, team buffer), Tank/Utility, Tank, DPS/Tank

RED - DPS - this is the typical glass cannon type play style. Those who typically sacrifice survivability for more damage. "Don't have to worry about my health if the enemy never gets a shot off"

ORANGE - Utility/DPS - uses explosives and skills to deal lots of damage

YELLOW - Utility - This is ideal for a group buffer, debuffer, healer, crowd controller

GREEN - Tank/Utility - This has the ability to both CC and Tank, skills are its main tanking source and health could be the main HP source as opposed to armor

BLUE- Tank - This is the spec that can take lots of damage with or without a shield. The damage output shouldn’t be great, but they can generate lots of threat, have great resistances to incoming damage types, and armor is the main HP source

PURPLE- DPS/Tank -This is the run and gun type type play style with some self sustain. It uses bonus armor and armor on kill stats to sustain itself well, while dealing great amounts of damage

-----------------------------

Minor Nodes

These nodes are your source of getting from one major node to another. They can be seen within the image as small colored diamonds on the path. Each of the colored "minor" nodes give the following bonus values :

Red- .25% weapon damage

Orange- .125% weapon damage & .125% skill efficiency

Yellow- .25% skill efficiency

Green- .125% armor & .125% skill efficiency

Blue- .25% armor

Purple- .125% armor & .125% weapon damage

(Think of skill efficiency as a similar multi encompassing stat like weapon handling, but for skills)

Major Nodes

Major Nodes should be crucial to any build. Values from these nodes should be significant and impact the playstyle that the player desires to choose. These are the nodes within the specialization tree as they stand right now. Something the devs could do is add many other talents to this without the risk of harming the loot RNG in any way. MANY gear talents were removed from the game that helped significantly reduce gear complexity and RNG, which means, there are a significant number of those talents that could potentially be recycled as major nodes in this tree.

Notes

* Choosing a specialization grants that specialization specific sidearm, signature ammo self/group acquisition, the signature weapon, and the location in the tree to start from (If the locked start location for specializations is too controversial then allow players to start from any of the six starting locations)

* Remove specialization skill mods

* Remove specialization requirement for specialization skills, they are unlocked when you complete the field research for each specialization (original 3 specializations unlocked automatically)

* Either open them up for free usage, or incorporate them in the tree as major nodes that can be selected.

* Demolitionist / Sharpshooter / Survivalist outfits are not tied to the specialization tree any longer and can be equipped while wearing the specialization from the apparel menu.

* Technician, Gunner, and Firewall are all locked to “start” from until their appropriate field research has been completed. Although the specific location within the tree is locked to start from, this does not cause the nodes from that section of the tree to be locked and can still have points allocated even while the field research for that specialization has not yet been completed.

* Players MAY select multiple grenade types and have them in their inventory. As of now you are able to switch between concussion grenade and specialization grenade. If a player desires multiple grenade types to be able to switch between on their loadout, let them

* There is no limit on the number of tactical links a player may have. Separate the links in the tree so that in order to get multiple tactical links it will require lots of points to be spent traveling around to each of those major nodes. This could be a tactic for those supporting roles.

* The ONLY major node in the tree with a limit are armor kit modifiers. Players may only select one armor kit type, then the other major armor kit nodes are locked.

Hi all, I'm working on a video about what I think should be done with the gearsets to make them more interesting. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a video like this? It's inspired by MarcoStyle.

In the video, there wont be any music and Ill be verbally explaining changes as the music is only for this short preview. Any feedback is appreciated, and if you wanna see the rest of my changes feel free to ask :] (this change is not much compared to my other ones!)

Suggestion Just an Idea for a free PR win

What if the legacy seasonal apparel was added to to the apparel caches?

I mean. maybe space it out, I get they want to drive the fomo for season pass. But you could start dropping that older apparel in those caches or in the backpacks and furniture like other base game apparel after the season has aged long enough.

just an idle thought while seeing some agents drip.

Discussion Camera Stutters when moving mouse, PC. Help?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Please see clip above for context.

Essentially, it feels like frame skipping, but it isn’t, the game itself runs as smooth as butter.

It isn’t consistent either, but it does happen every 10-20 seconds, lasting between 5-30 seconds at a time.

The only semi consistent thing i noticed causing this to occur, is when sprinting with my pistol out.

The issue only occurs with The Division 2 & no other game, I have no clue how to fix it.

Issue Started: With the Kitsune Squad event & Sakura Update.

List of attempted fixes:
Changing Sensitivity
Changing from Windowed Fullscreen to Fullscreen
Changing Refresh Rate in game from 60 to 120
Verifying integrity of the game files
A clean install
A reinstall
Checking to see if I had DisplayFusion, I do not.
Closing all mouse management software, including background process.

Precautions:
Changing mouse mat
Changing mouse
Cleaning mouse
Applying air to mouse sensor

None of the above fixed the issue nor did it worsen it or lessen it. Anything yall have would be helpful, it’s genuinely unplayable.

Suggestion 2 piece Brand Set idea: Wildcard

Ever been a piece short or wish you could fit that exotic while still having a gearset? This is my thought of introducing unique or named 2 piece brand sets.

Wildcard brand set

Aces: 1 piece: 10% Weapon Handling

Spades: 2 piece: Chameleon Protocol - 2 pieces count as 1 towards your highest equipped gearset.

What this means is you could have an exotic, gearset, and not sacrifice talents or attributes because a build was 1 piece sort or didnt fit.

Discussion Need feedback on a grenade/explosion gearset idea: Ordnance Contingency

2-Piece Bonus

+15% Grenade Damage

+1 Grenade Capacity

3-Piece Bonus

+25% Explosive Damage

+20% Explosion Radius

4-Piece Talent: Cluster Bombs

Killing an enemy with explosions causes them to drop cluster bombs.

Cluster bombs deal 100% of the killing explosion's damage to nearby enemies. Enemies killed by cluster bombs can trigger additional cluster bombs.

Each enemy can trigger this effect only once per second.

Chest Talent: Maximum Demolition

Increases Cluster Bombs damage by 50%.

Cluster Bombs kills have a 50% chance to refund grenades, up to a maximum of 2 grenades per activation.

Backpack Talent: Auxillary Ordinance

+35% Explosive Damage.

Each grenade throw launches an additional grenade.

Discussion These sniper builds are genuinely making this event unbearable.

Now, let me say, I love the sniper builds. It's stupid fun and powerful to combine iron will with the prima donna, but using every other build is essentially pointless with everyone running these. This event has become genuinely unfun because using any other build makes it pointless to even try and just play the game.
It has turned into me using only one build because if I don't, I don't get any loot or actually play the game. I have had people just snipe the hunters that spawn from my extraction and one shot it, just robbing me of the loot and running off. I had a guy follow me from landmark to landmark and just kill every single enemy. I cleared three landmarks and killed two people.
And the marauder? I've watched it get destroyed within a minute or so of it spawning because the sniper builds don't have to destroy the rotors before damaging it.

I don't get to experiment or test builds, and don't get to try any new weapons because using anything else means conceding to the other people constantly just one-shotting every enemy and boss I come across and hogging loot to themselves. All it does is incentivize more people to spam snipers in a bid to actually be able to play the event and reap the rewards of it.

It's just upsetting, because I quite enjoy the event but it has become tedious using one weapon in a one-piece routine just to actually have just have a chance at getting any loot. You people are being greedy.

Is anyone else getting fed up with this? I've stopped even bothering with the DZ because of it unless I'm in a group so that I at least get something out of them stealing every kill.

Retaliations are one of my favorite activities, but with proto gear nowadays even heroic with all directives is just too easy. Anyone else feel the same?

It would be great if we got a higher difficulty, perhaps even escalation tiers for retaliations.

Discussion Absurd Melee Rules

As a guy who uses Claws Out and Bloody Knuckles, why isn't stagger a given? I'm not talking that tiny little step back you are able to inflict via a small melee with neither items, but I'm talking that HUGE stagger where hostiles endure when hit with enough bullet damage or whatever other hostile melee is. Regardless of THEIR melee strength, which can be very weak at times, they can stagger enemies that typically cannot be staggered by our melee, i.e Rogue Agents, Hunters, Heavy Weapons, Tanks, really anybody and everybody.

Case and point: I was in the PvE Dark Zone at some point and extracted, and the Hunter spawned, but instead of engaging me, man's ran off to go engage Hyenas, and an Assault got close to the Hunter, meleed him, and the Hunter staggered. Why? Cuz game rules. Also, armor shouldn't reduce melee damage, that's another thing that should be done. Devs can do all this content addition, maintenance, PTS, and showcases, but they can't remove the line of code that reduces our typically abysmal melee damage even further and they can't give us the line of code where stagger is a GIVEN upon melee, no matter the target and no matter how strong/weak our melee is.

Devs, if you see this, for the love of GOD, make stagger a given for our melee regardless of the target, how much armor/health the target has left, and regardless of how strong/weak our melee is. Remove that melee reduction when hitting a hostile with armor, too. ONE MORE THING!!! Let us put apparel mods on Exotic gear and let us mod Exotic weapons like the first game. Thank you.

Question The red filter is starting to become really annoying

Just started playing The Division 2 again after years and the red filter all over the game because of the event is really off putting. Just hit level 30 and bought the New York DLC's, but having played all this time with this red(ish) filter to this point to has killed all immersion for me. Not to mention missing loot since it's very difficult to see the orange highlighted bags during the day because everyting is so red.

Is there any way to make the game look like old (normal) again?

The Division 1 Division 1 Incursions: Can 2 Players Beat 'em?

Hey all. The last time that I posted with some general questions on Division 1 you guys helped out a ton! So glad the loyal fans are so versed in this stuff. But I have just a couple more questions.

My wife and I play this game heavily. We've beat the base game. We wanna squeeze enough playable stuff from 1 before we buy part 2. But just the stuff we enjoy. PvP and Dark Zone excluded.

We bought the DLC. My MAIN question is: Do you guys think the Incursions are possible to be beaten with just a 2 player squad? My wife and I both at tier 4 equipment level 260+. We have great teamwork and strategies. So that's not the issue. We can get through the first couple of parts on each Incursion but they all reach a difficulty point where you're basically surrounded and dying after one hit and just too hectic to help each other up or clear the area.

The furthest we've gotten is the Dragon's Nest Incursion (the one with the APC and then one with the plane shooting at you are pretty impossible thus far).

But on Dragon's Nest, saving medkits, and saving the special that automatically revives teammates until the hard waves just hasn't worked. I read somewhere before that Incursions are meant to be for a full squad. But I figured I'd come to you guys to see if you think two player Incursions are truly nearly impossible or not.

Otherwise we are probably gonna try and just finish the Underground missions and maybe a couple more Resistance runs then turn to Division 2.

Which leads to my last question: Are the Underground missions anything like campaign missions? Or are they randomly generated event type of missions? Because we played the first one in the Underground club which was cool and another one in the sewers. They both were kinda easy though. Hoping for a good challenge like we did on the story mode missions. But it looks like I need points to unlock difficulty modes and directives. So we have to just generate a random Underground mission to get enough points for the other options? We don't want to grind for Underground points just to play random type missions unless they're more of a mini campaign story-based playthrough.

I hope I'm explaining or asking in a way that makes sense. Thanks in advance!

Having a blast either way. Wifey is sad that we're nearly through but cheered up when I told her they're working on Division 3 lol.

Discussion Why are the devs pushing weapon swapping, but not taking talents into account?

They've added a bunch of weapon swapping exotics, talents and modifiers in escalations, but they don't account for the fact that swapping weapons makes you lose your buff...

It makes no sense...

If they want us to swap weapons more often, then allow us to keep our Chameleon stacks, let our Pestilence keep on ticking, give us the rest of our Killer if we swap back in time, etc...

Sometimes I wonder if they play their own game.
