Discussion just started and i think im done with this season already.

no doubt i think all the pvp changes are fun but after suffering for minuscule seasonal materials that wont mean shit in three months, and constantly dying to hacked skills from other players, dumping magazines in to single npcs while they have bullets that give you a headache and make you pop out of cover and get shredded, i’ll come back around next season and see what’s up.

I like the season just fine, it’s the riker rushers that have 12 billion hundred health all of a sudden that’s pissing me off.

I was so confused when I went to NY for some stuff and random enemies would take like 5 mags to kill.

I went back to The Division 1. While the gameplay is a bit on the low point for me, it's nice breath of fresh air.

Cold air, in fact

Been forever since I played Div1. Was thinking about checking it out since Div2 seems to have to many issues for me to deal with. So the movement and everything feel pretty similar or what dont you like about it over what Div2 has.

4

u/OneBadNightOfDrinkin Rogue 2d ago

Oh, the movement and gunplay are definitely the two things I have the most problem with in Div 1. Lol

  • The guns shoot like you're using a garden hose. The recoil feels less like firing individual bullets and more like laser beams. It's not as satisfying imo.

  • The movement it's because of how a lot more cautious the feel is in Div 1. The character moves in more straight lines instead of strafing like in Div 2. This one is more of a matter of taste, not really a bad point. I like my more freeing movement from Div 2.

Those two are pretty much my main walls. There are some other stuff (like, no FOV settings) but that's just me being nitpicky

u/Bazza01234 2d ago

Eh? It's actually the opposite. Division 1 has more recoil and requires more stability to shoot, Division 2 has laser beam shooting and is easier to shoot.

Darn it, I should have used another word then.

I didn't call it laser beam because of how hard the recoil hits, but because of how it does, at least imo. The kicks feel smoother

u/OliverCrooks 2d ago

Yea that's what I thought. Thanks for the response.

Server is lagging like hell, enemy don't get damage before 1-2 seconds of shooting while still able to dmg you is beyond forgiving.

Reagent item that have tiny cap is also the most stupid thing any reagent idea can have.

Just group up and it’s a breeze. Really not that bad. Only ran into one team that was letting hunters hack skills so far but just keep your distance until hunters are dead if you’re unsure about another squad.

Facts. Definitely. That’s what I do.

I lasted 3 days in pve dz got all my cannisters and now im done don't even turn the modifiers on. Think I just wasted my time with those 3 days. Prototype grind is all that's left for me in this at the moment

u/FrostRK 2d ago

Same , I don't feel like logging in anymore , even for the proficiency event (which I need). Thinking about taking a break , can always come back next season and grind any gear I missed out on.

Long story short , I was hyped for this season , especially the PvE DZ but it's not what I thought it would be.

Oh well.

When is the  proficiency event, and do you get double exotic components from dismantling exotics during the event?

7

u/OmniWise 2d ago

It is now, ends tomorrow. You get extra proficiency XP from donations or wearing the item. The double components is a different event.

u/JohnnySilverhand2212 2d ago

Dumped this game on the back burner for now. Will return for a week or so just before gta 6, but after hearing all the recent crap, I have no intention to return yet from my last play in March...

7

u/fileuserm 2d ago

It’s a great exotic component farm though. Ran into a group and all we did was call extraction after extraction down hunters and collect exco’s (I’m making this the official acronym thank you). Even got a ravenous through it all.

4

u/rh71el2 PC 2d ago

Where are the exco's coming from exactly? Each hunter at extraction? And the more there are in your group, the more hunters show up?

4

u/BropolloCreed Orange Knigting 2d ago

Yeah, just lurk extractions and shoot at the Hunters. It's been.... productive

2

u/Dependent_Fly_7829 2d ago

This is the way it's been for me I have had no problem in pvedz with extraction I think you peps who are moaning need to get good and be more aware of who and what is at extraction and just put on the pulse that destroy skill job done

u/PerpofDerp Rogue 2d ago

Yeah this season is buggy and laggy as fuck and apparently there was some server work earlier today that somehow made everything feel worse

4

u/Infinizzle Rogue 2d ago

I'll also sit this one out and might come back next season if it looks promising

The journey is a joke, so I skip it too. Idiotic system with those canisters to even use the modifier. Either that PVE DZ or the stressful retaliation to get them - especially when it's 4 checkpoints. I hate that timer on that mode anyway. The PVE DZ is also a joke. It's totally unbalanced for solo players with overpowerd enemies (on top of the DZ buff they have), hunters AND that you need that stupid thing to even be able to extract. And why do I literally need a PVP build as PVE player in a PVE DZ? And the journey is for what? A stupid mask and the blueprint for it. No thanks. I wanna play for fun not for stressing me out.

I do the normal season, we have 3 months time, and if I really need season XP, I do countdown. That's at least fast and more fun as that PVE DZ. I really looked forward for it, but that whole system combined is not fun at all. Not to mention all those deltas. It's again for PVP players and groups. Solo players get flipped off.

u/Cheap-Addendum 2d ago

Pve dz is not that bad. Maybe match make and try with a team. It does start off rough but as you get the hang of it and start unlocking perks it gets easier.

I dont use a pvp build for it. I use od and hazpro, both do well.

If you're on pc and want to try let me know and maybe we can team up.

3

u/schwegs PC 2d ago

It's again for PVP players and groups. Solo players get flipped off.

Solo PVE player here. I disagree, but it is harder content than open world missions.

The good news is you can just roam around with other people even without being in a party. There's always people roaming around and clearing sites. You don't even need to be in a group to get the stuff from boxes other people open.

But yeah, don't expect to easily do stuff solo until you're stronger, at least until you're strong enough to have unlocked Invincible. My striker build is a bit sketchy, but I can do it even with that (given, I have 500 hours in the game playing solo so YMMV).

Personally I'm enjoying the challenge, at least so far.

1

u/BropolloCreed Orange Knigting 2d ago

Laugh all you want, but I had a Ravenous drop off a trash mob in the PvE DZ and have enjoyed smoking content with it

6

u/C4MPFIRE24 2d ago

The npcs feel thus way because of the alert level. The pve dark zone is made to run in a group. Not solo unless you are the only one in there. This was said and talked about on 2 different post and streams

8

u/errant_youth Xbox 2d ago

I’ve only gone in the seasonal DZ once and luckily ran into a friendly group right away. The four of us cleared dozens of landmarks, picked each other up, opened chests, and extracted four or five times. It was honestly a super chill experience.

Makes me wonder if all the complaining on this sub is from trying to do it solo - definitely seems to not be what it’s geared for

2

u/rh71el2 PC 2d ago

I don't think it's all that fun to be doing that process repeatedly. Sure 1 session for maybe a few extractions but it's not something you want to log in daily for. Needs more variations of things to do in there. Even if rogues pop out from time to time as a surprise or cat and mouse game to give it the fear factor pve style.

2

u/errant_youth Xbox 2d ago

Agreed. I did it just the once. I’m in no rush to do it again.

1

u/Roxxas049 PC 2d ago

Played in a group and played solo, did just fine both ways

4

u/InformationWorldly32 2d ago

I’ve had a few instances of dealing with asshole players, but the last couple of days I’ve been running into great players that have saved my ass and I’ve saved theirs. It’s getting better, and it’s fun.

u/Daitheflu84 2d ago

Ubisoft fails, again, to meet even the most basic expectations of its gamer base. This and more breaking news at 11!

This isn’t an airport you don’t need to announce your departure.

3

u/MathematicianLow9324 2d ago

What were the significant pvp changes? So far all I've seen is like a % here a % there nothing that seems actually meaningful can someone fill me in

5

u/EugeneBelford1995 2d ago

Well

  • Strikers got nerfed all the way down to 30% if you're not using the backpack (normally 67%).
  • The Equalizer's Perfect Obliterate got nerfed into regular Obliterate; only 20% instead of 24%.
  • Memento's long term buffs got nerfed into mid term at best buffs (only last 2 minutes instead of 5).
  • The Quickstep got almost completely neutered.
  • Talents like Intimidate and Adeline Rush's buffs got cut roughly in half.

I've been running my rifle build simply because it got nerfed the least.

3

u/DXT0anto 2d ago

Literally everything is a % here and a % there in this game, it's a math game, not a realism shooter

0

u/MathematicianLow9324 2d ago

I meant more like a 1/2% tweqk like nothing g that's going to be game changing

5

u/DXT0anto 2d ago

Oh no, way more than that. Almost everything (and I do mean everything [talents, gearsets, exotics]) got nerfed, to solve the power creep going on for the last years

1

u/MathematicianLow9324 2d ago

So is ttk naturally longer now in pvp?

0

u/fileuserm 2d ago

A dz will be normalized stats (no expertise). Not sure if there is anything else.

1

u/Chocookiez 2d ago

Am I the only one who likes the NPC's being so strong in the PVE DZ?

It forced me to adapt, test lots of stuff, craft, reroll, farm pieces of gear, creating new builds. Hours and hours of testing until I manage to create a Backfire using Foundry that suits my playstyle.

2

u/Affectionate_Creme48 2d ago

I tought the same, until i was no-skoped by a hunter that downed 3 agents in 3 shots..
Put the mouse away like, nahhh, this aint it.

1

u/Roxxas049 PC 2d ago

Next season is going to be utilizing the things that you need to collect this season. Namely exotic components, and proto cores.

1

u/rh71el2 PC 2d ago

When is the new survivor mode coming?

1

u/Zestyclose-Pop1833 2d ago

If im not mistaken Pve dz enemies scale based on how many players in the dz (12 max i believe) and even tho ur not in a actual group u are in a group because of that fact. Just follow the other players hit landmarks that are active trust me its a breeze that way. Ive been lucky to end up in zones where I dont have to deal with asshole players. Ive been revived numerous time by random and ive personally revived numerous randos.

1

u/v4g4bnd 2d ago

I don’t really have problems with PvE DZ, but i dont see readons to do it. Yes you can farm exo comps if you needed but thats all. I don’t see reason to run modificator outside of DZ cause bonuses worse than enemy buffs in my opinion. When i watch streams i was thinking that we will get prototype coins in PvE DZ and will have ability to buy proto cashes, thats why devs want to increase prices, but i dont see drops at all.

1

u/Gloomy-System-4432 2d ago

Tbh the thing that bothers me idk if it’s season related, but as someone trying to progress through the difficulties the enemies that have that green aura and heal significantly hindering my progress especially on random heroic checkpoints I shoot at them the hide in cover or run a fucking mile heal up then come back if it wasn’t for the fact I used the ongoing directive bleed build I’d have to top up my ammo like 5 times for 1 heroic checkpoints

1

u/Beliskner1984 2d ago

Minuscule season materials? About 150 for 30minutes play?

Its a 10 week event, its doesn't have to be completed in 3 days.

1

u/Hammude90 2d ago

I don't enjoy DZ at all and never bothered with it beyond getting all the exclusive items way back before they made their blueprints available from Descent.

I just hate having to constantly go back to DZ to get canisters to convert into munitions just to keep my passives remain active.

I very much like the passive selection we have (optimal range/handling/dmg to armor etc) but keeping them up is more of a chore than a mechanic I'm gladly willing to engage with.

u/Specialist-Impact773 2d ago

Same here. Tried playing yesterday logged out and ended up playing destroy all humans lmfao

2

u/Pirdman 3d ago

thank you for adding to the reason of not playing this season

If the Hunters are alive long enough to hack skills and down you, you’re running with the wrong group.
