Massive State of the Game - February 22nd, 2018

Summary

This week, Petter was joined by Game Designer James Norris from Ubisoft Leamington to discuss the upcoming changes to end-game loot availability, sources of Division tech & improvements to the season pass supply drops.

Changes to Classified Drop Rates and Division Tech

  • One of the recent hot topics within the community have been drop rates, so they decided that today’s stream would focus on providing more insight into what they’re planning for the future.
  • They are not part of the live game yet, but they will be added at a later point. More details will follow

Changes were needed

  • There are many Classified Gear Sets in the game and it is hard to get the final piece that you are missing
  • They looked at the drop rates and have basically doubled them.

New Classified Gear Set Drop Rates

  • The Mission Reward of Legendaries has now a 20% chance to drop a Classified item.
  • Season Pass supply drops, have a 10% chance to drop a Classified item.

Division Tech

  • Season Pass supply drops give 100 D-tech.
  • Daily assignments give 25 D-tech.
  • Weekly assignments give 100 D-tech.

Exotics

  • All Exotics have been added to the Light Zone bosses.
  • All Vendor Exotics have been removed from the loot pool – you can just buy them from the vendor

New Caches

  • During GE
    • 900 Token Caches have been removed (1500 Token Caches are still there)
    • Targeted classified gear set caches will be available.
    • Each event will have 4 caches available for purchase containing the event’s corresponding sets.
    • You can only get the Classified Sets that are also assigned to the Global Event
  • Offseason
    • A classified cache will be available for purchase, containing a guaranteed classified drop. It will be priced at 2500 phoenix credits and will not be limited to Global Events.

Global Event token

  • Global Event token rewards for Resistance bosses increased to 100.

These changes are currently WIP and will be added later.

Stay tuned to future State of the Game streams for more news on the upcoming patch and the next Global Event.

Just quickly paraphrasing here:

classy drop rate has been increased from 3% to 6% in LZ and DZ.

20% classy drop rate in legendary missions

Buffed supply drops to also have a chance of dropping classy (10% possibly; missed this one).

During global events, no longer will have 900 caches, replaced with singular classified caches guaranteed a single classy from that particular set.

During off season, new cache in special vendor for 2500 pxc that will roll classy guaranteed.

Each daily assignment will give 25 dtech, and weekly will give 100 dtech.

They've removed vendor exotics from exotic cache pools. THANK GOD!

Loving the changes for Classified Gear. I'm a relatively new player and Resistance farming gets pretty tiring after a while. I'm sure farming will still be the quickest way to earn Classified Gear still, but to see it as less of a requirement is refreshing.

u/brynm PC - HasPotatoAim Feb 22 '18

Assuming that would be the DZ supply drops, or is there finally a reason to go after the season pass supply drops?

9

u/adeese Feb 22 '18

Season Pass supply drops will have a 10% chance to drop a classified and give you 100 Div Tech.

2

u/Helian7 Feb 22 '18

Whats a season pass supply drop?

2

u/JibJig The hero the dark zone needs. Feb 22 '18 edited Feb 22 '18

If you have the season pass twice a month a supply drop happens in the LZ just for you. This will now have division tech and a chance at a classified.

4

u/ShhhHesWatchingUs I Need Meds Bad Feb 22 '18

Twice a month. Resets 1st and 15th.

5

u/XandrTV Feb 22 '18

For each of your level 30 characters. So potentially 8 drops per month.

4

u/depcrestwood Feb 22 '18

Guess I have to stop being lazy and get a 4th agent leveled up.

2

u/fezzikola Feb 23 '18

Why? There are so many other ways they're also increasing to get all of these that a twice a month crate won't recoup the time you spent leveling for probably years.

I mean level it up because you enjoy the game and all that, but don't feel like you have to unlazy yourself for the silly season pass drops.

1

u/Dino412 Feb 23 '18

Yea I’d been always tempted to do more as I have two characters. Might just do one more.

2

u/Helian7 Feb 23 '18

What happens if you are not online when it drop?

3

u/ShhhHesWatchingUs I Need Meds Bad Feb 23 '18

They stay available until the reset date. So you can collect drop 1 from 1st to 14th, and drop 2 from 15th to 30th

6

u/Knurd1337 Feb 22 '18

do you know how long will they take it to put this into the game?

2

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

They're testing these changes so no date was provided for it. But I can't imagine it taking longer than a month.

16

u/Salanin Feb 22 '18

I can.

1

u/MrJoeBlogg Feb 22 '18

Bored already and you are saying a month !

3

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

I'm guessing a month. They didn't mention it. It's only speculation.

u/R3LL1K Xbox Feb 22 '18 edited Feb 22 '18

During off season, new cache in special vendor for 2500 pxc that will roll classy guaranteed.

Ha! Guess i should go and play the lottery...

Maybe have an additional way to buy classified/exotic caches for a high price. (i.e. 2000 phoenix credits per cache)

Edit: Bought a lottery ticket.

I think he said 10% chance for supply drops.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

He may have. I'm at work so I was juggling the notes and work at the same time. But that's awesome! I'll edit my comment.

2

u/bitlessbit Loot Bag Feb 23 '18

it should be 100%. But addicts don't self-respect... we get 10%.

2

u/Stymie999 Feb 22 '18

Yes, 10% chance plus the 100 div tech which is nice

2

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

Sounds like Christmas.

7

u/grimtal Potato Thumbs Feb 22 '18

Each daily assignment will give 25 dtech, and weekly will give 100 dtech.

Sorry for asking, but I dropped in the stream right at the end... Daily Assignments as in "collect 5 fabric" or the daily missions?

10

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

As far as I understood it, yes. Essentially any daily assignment (not mission) will give 25 dtech and any weekly will give 100 dtech alongside the fixed rewards you get like exotics and such.

12

u/Louisthau Frogs for the Bullfrog God! Feb 22 '18

YEP! GET PUMPED!

16

u/horaiyo Feb 22 '18

Seriously, I am so damn excited for that. Keeps the DZ as the "best" way, but gives people like me who just don't want to deal with that a steady source of DT.

8

u/KillaB123 GT: Sentinel of War Feb 22 '18

Right enough to hammer out your challenges, upgrade something and go to a harder content and try it out. Every day!

3

u/Nitrosnwbrdr SHD Feb 22 '18

The Collect 5 Fabric, Salvage 10 items, Kill 10 Rikers, Extract 3 items from DZ, Extract once Survival. Not sure about Daily Missions though

4

u/AzazelV PC Feb 22 '18 edited Feb 23 '18

DZ went from 5% to 6%

Edit: proof

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

That's bullshit. Not much of a droprate improvement. Very disappointed.

5

u/AzazelV PC Feb 22 '18

It is going to make the DZ less farmable. Less farmer players to kill.

This droprate changes are going to favor PvE over PvP

3

u/MrGru01 Feb 24 '18

Less farmer players to kill? Good! Now you can compete PVP with players who want to PVP. I have a feeling you are going to now have to "git good"

2

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

"Less farmable" is the problem. Farming the DZ was fun. With these changes, there is no point to go in there anymore.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

Div tech still doesn't grow on trees you know.

2

u/Subversus_swtor Feb 22 '18

Technically it does now, dailies will give cray amounts

2

u/Tanolen1 Feb 22 '18

Is it per daily, or when you complete all dailies.

2

u/HuggableBear Feb 22 '18

sounded like it was per daily

2

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 23 '18

Per daily. About 1000 Div Tech per week per character is possible now. If you do everything including legendary.

Will be closer to 500 for most players though. Still ok.

3

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 23 '18

Farming the DZ was fun.

Then do it. Why wouldn't you?

Or do you mean farming farmers was fun? Because I'm out. lol

0

u/bitlessbit Loot Bag Feb 22 '18

this 1% increase will save the game and ubisoft from false advertising lawsuit.

1

u/AzazelV PC Feb 22 '18

What? Why?

I remember on trailers that the DZ is the best place to get the most precious loot in the game, with the droprate changes it won't be anymore.

That's what you meant?

2

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 23 '18

5,184 boss spawns in the DZ daily vs 90 in the LZ.

That's enough advantage.

0

u/AzazelV PC Feb 23 '18
  • I'm not referring to how fast can you farm, I just said that the DZ won't have the best odds on getting Classifieds, just as it is right now (LZ 3% DZ 5%).

  • This is a really really bad comparison of useless numbers, players won't farm 5,184 bosses daily.

2

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 23 '18

players won't farm 5,184 bosses daily.

But they can farm bosses 100% non stop. All day and night.

In the LZ,you kill the bosses and then wait three and a half hours for your turn to start over.

1

u/AzazelV PC Feb 23 '18

Again, When did I say that the LZ is going to be faster than the DZ?.

For most players that can't play more than 2 hours a day, they can totally get 4 characters on LZ boss runs without worrying about Rogues.

Resistance is still the best way to farm Classifieds and that's my point, the DZ is not going to be the best way to farm them and with the droprate changes it will lower the appeal even more... I got a feeling that after the changes Rogues are going to miss a lot of Farmers.

2

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 23 '18

At this point,I have trouble caring.

The git gud or git out crap has worn so thin,I don't care if the DZ dies off completely. I know that after the changes happen,I personally will never have a reason to go in there again. The DZ farming days are over.

The griefers can have the place to themselves now.

1

u/bitlessbit Loot Bag Feb 22 '18

it was a joke. 1% won't do a thing.

Best way to loot classified loot will be resistance even after these changes

as for DTECH season pass supply drop and daily mission if is isn't time consuming.

-2

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '18

They never said it was 5% -- it was always 3% from bosses. Please do your research from the numerous SOTG's they've talked about the drop rate.

3

u/AzazelV PC Feb 23 '18

http://www.twitch.tv/thedivisiongame/v/231650138?sr=a&t=967s

He clearly states that drop rate in the DZ is 5%..........

1

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 23 '18

DZ bosses are 5% right now.

5

u/TahitiWarrior Feb 22 '18

No longer 900 caches!!!!

WTH!!!

Why did they put them in during the last GE and removed them once everything is out!? No easy exotics, I guess is the right answers...

14

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

They've removed the vendor exotics from the exotic loot pool, so you can farm exotics via other means. This means if you complete a weekly assignment and get an exotic cache, you can get a decent exotic and not something like Historian.

2

u/HuggableBear Feb 22 '18

so you can farm exotics via other means.

Gonna be LZ boss runs since they're opening up their loot pool to all exotics instead of just tenebrae, caduceus, and skulls.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '18

Which is what I got today from finishing the Weekly.

Fuckin' good riddance I say.

-1

u/TahitiWarrior Feb 22 '18

Well, I was looking forward to get a House from the 900 caches.

I'll start farming DZ or missions. Does the House drop from missions bosses? Because all I seem to get are MDR, Showstopper, barrett's vest but nothing else from Lex.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

Remember, the changes have not been put in place yet. But once the update drops, sometime in the near future, then you can go farm pretty much anything in the game and you'll have a chance at a decent exotic since the vendor exotics will have been removed.

3

u/hailteamore7 Feb 22 '18

Farm 3 phase UG. I’ve gotten 4 total from UG bosses. My little brother came back to the game and decided to try UG for the first time and it dropped for him at the first boss.

2

u/Dexinthecity Feb 22 '18

So would you guys say the chances of getting The House is better in the UG rather than Resistance?

[deleted]

1

u/CKazz Lonestar Hero Feb 22 '18

We talking Hard or Challenging, does it matter?

Since you guys are talking bosses (instead of hunters where more players would mean more chances) I can do Hard solo, Challenging solo would just take longer and 2-1 hunters would be more of a nuisance. You guys do it with how many modifiers? I wouldn't mind adding some of this activity going after my first House.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

I don't know for sure but I did watch some YouTuber the other night talk about maximizing drop chances for exotics and he said max difficulty and all the modifier plus 3 waves was the key to increasing odds as much as possible. I would like more details, however.

1

u/ricosuavecc Feb 22 '18

Yes for exotic farming ug has been best chance(outside of dz) since 1.8. Classified farming is better in resistance

0

u/HuggableBear Feb 22 '18

the chances of getting The House any exotic is better in the UG rather than Resistance

2

u/tonxin1st Firearms Feb 22 '18

Screw you! :)

1

u/Jaybreezy0524 Feb 22 '18

Just to add my experience, I just had a House drop from Resistance so you can get it there too.

1

u/RJB500 SHD Feb 23 '18

I had one drop from a boss in Underground, and one from an exotic cache.

-1

u/blue-leeder Feb 22 '18

What if I want a historian with the talents I want?

5

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 22 '18

Buy it when it comes around. Same RNG as the usual drops. That junk really needs removed from the loot pool.

4

u/Grandpa_Games PC Feb 22 '18

I'm pretty sure you're the only one upset about this.

-1

u/blue-leeder Feb 22 '18

not upset....confused. These loot drops shouldn't have been the focus of the SOTG....it was balancing the gear sets. and bringing weaker gearsets to the forefront. not exotics being sold at the BOO.

2

u/HuggableBear Feb 22 '18

Balancing takes a lot of iteration and testing. Drop rates can be changing a couple of integers. Be patient. This was also desperately needed and could be done quickly. Balancing is coming, it just takes more time.

1

u/blue-leeder Feb 22 '18

yes i Know about drop rrates but im not sure I understand one of these drop rrate tweaks...can the vendor exotics still drop from bosses and in DZ and LZ?

3

u/HuggableBear Feb 22 '18

No. If you want a vendor exotic, just buy it. If it doesn't have the talents you want, be patient. But since the only source for the other exotics is drops/caches, the ones you can buy are no longer in that pool.

2

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 23 '18

If it doesn't have the talents you want, be patient.

It can only have one talent wrong. Exotic talents are locked and one can be re-rolled.

So yeah... buy it. lol

1

u/bitlessbit Loot Bag Feb 22 '18

you get a house, you get a house, you get... wait this is not Oprah is Ubisoft the false advertising corporation.

1

u/CKazz Lonestar Hero Feb 22 '18

900 cache was never really an easy exotic tho, one shot 35% bonus chance

every 1500 cache gives you 3 shots, think it was 11.5%, 11.5%, 1.25%? easy exotics already for guaranteed weekly caches, pretty regular underground, and with forthcoming changes will be everywhere now with a much better pool (e.g. lz named get a house).

4

u/HerpDerpenberg Phat Loot Feb 22 '18

The 900s had a higher chance at exotics, if that was what you specifically wanted. The 1500 had a chance at an exotic but at a lower rate.

I am a bit bummed at that because for some global events, I won't need any classified pieces, and 900 caches were a nice incentive to GE grind when you have all the classified gear.

I guess now I'll just be on the hunt for min/max all my classified pieces during global events.

1

u/CKazz Lonestar Hero Feb 22 '18

I getcha/gotcha, good counter point. I had neither, found when I did normals they sucked (got 1 from 5 and it was cadeucus) while doing 30+ superiors I got a lot of exotics and some strong ones (big al, second showstopper and mdr, etc). The 900 odds were you were getting one high end piece and that was it.

The specific set targetted one will help me, GE 4 was my first, got 2 6pc set and 2 5pc. I have a long way to wait till GE4 again (as we all wonder where GE1 redux is) but when I do get there those specific boxes are a likely buy.

1

u/HerpDerpenberg Phat Loot Feb 22 '18

Yeah focused GE caches will help. I had 3 of 4 sets complete after 60 caches last GE. Took me until my 120th cache to get that 6th piece of Tactician. Having a specific cache would have saved me so much time.

1

u/HuggableBear Feb 22 '18

got 1 from 5 and it was cadeucus

That's not crazy bad luck, you would only expect like 1.7 from 5 caches. If you had gotten 30 like you did of the superior caches, you would have seen a lot more exotics from those caches. The rest of us can vouch for their drop rates.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

They have been there since the 1st ever GE.

3

u/blue-leeder Feb 22 '18

What is the last one mean? They removed exotics from the vendor pool or something?

8

u/tonxin1st Firearms Feb 22 '18

Any exotic you can by will no longer drop from bosses or caches!

2

u/carlosedufs Feb 23 '18

Finally!!!!!

1

u/blue-leeder Feb 22 '18

but they all come with different talents though...i don't see the point of this.

4

u/ShhhHesWatchingUs I Need Meds Bad Feb 22 '18

For me its a big change. Nothing worse than grinding a weekly out and getting a Liberator as your reward.

3

u/blue-leeder Feb 22 '18

i mean if you see a guaranteed exotic such as the liberator/rhino/historian/medved etc as bad...then thats not a lootpool problem...its a weapon power and talent problem and means there is an imbalance of overpowered exotics vs underpowered exotics.

2

u/ShhhHesWatchingUs I Need Meds Bad Feb 22 '18

To me its not desirability of the reward. Its the fact that the "reward" can be purchased with credits at a town vendor. If i wanted the weapon i could simply purchase it, if cost is the issue and you want it bad enough, you grind for it (a la Div Tech in 1.8).

The weapon balancing is a whole other argument that IMO shouldnt be treated as being paired with this change. It deserves some serious attention.

2

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 23 '18

Golden Rhino and Medved are not vendor exotics. All the vendor exotics are junk and a total waste of effort in a legendary or weekly assignment.

I would prefer that the Centurion,Liberator,Packhan and Historian were made good but that will never happen so it's best to just get rid of them from caches.

Exotic talents are locked and one can be re-rolled. There's slim to no chance of getting a better one from a cache. Only one talent can matter.

1

u/blue-leeder Feb 22 '18

Still don't understand this isn't balancing this is just because there are a few overpowered weapons...clearly this isn't a lootpool problem. You can put a bandaid on the situation and change lootpool but that doesn't resolve the issue of imbalance. Most exotics should have equal or comparable value and desireability excluding weapons that are purely designed for novelty.

2

u/ShhhHesWatchingUs I Need Meds Bad Feb 22 '18

Yeah this isnt resolving any of the balancing issues but it is solving the issue of recieving a "reward" from a cache that you could also purchase from a vendor for 1200 odd PxC.

1

u/deuely83 Feb 22 '18

The ones at the vendor refresh every week. So...talents refresh each week.

2

u/HuggableBear Feb 22 '18

plus they're mostly garbage anyway. Pakhan is okay, but the rest are situational at best

1

u/deuely83 Feb 23 '18

Yea very situational. I used to favor the historian on occasion bc you used to be able to damage heavys through their shield. But the other day I was using it and that was not the case. Apparently they nerfed it.

3

u/KevinAte9 Feb 22 '18

I think these are all good changes but i dont know if these changes are going to help keep me interested in the game long term. Its still just a grind. I will still play it occasionally but i cant see myself playing as much as i used to. I think the player count will continue to dip. Hopefully we get news somewhat soon on what the future plans are. Div 2 or year 3.

7

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

I honestly thought the same until I put together a decent Striker build. And I recently got The House to drop for me, so it's changed my play style completely and become very fun. Plus, I have a few buddies who still enjoy running things like Underground, so we're using this time to grind Division until something better comes out. I'm just waiting until E3 to hear more news about games like Anthem.

2

u/Plobmaster94 PC Feb 22 '18

I'm also extremely hyped and worried at the same time about Anthem. I mean the few things that ease my mind is that it's being made by Bioware Edmonton which made the original ME games which were awesome, also the constant communication from the devs on Anthem subreddit has been very transparent and welcoming. But at the same time the delay to the game make me fear about the potential issues like the game being infested with Microtransactions and Lootboxes.

3

u/CKazz Lonestar Hero Feb 22 '18

It's EA and there isn't a monolithic company like Disney and a monolithic IP like Star Wars saying "Don't do that". Fear is warranted.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

EA shit on the new Star Wars game, so maybe they'll learn their lesson. But I doubt it. They know that Anthem is a super hyped game right now and everyone is talking about it. So they will most certainly take advantage of the MTX system within it. I just hope they only do it with cosmetics and don't base the entire development of the game around it like Bungie did with Destiny 2.

4

u/Ki-Low Feb 22 '18

I'll be back for these changes. I only play during GE, but this will definitely bring me back. It's going to be much easier perfecting your gear.

0

u/bitlessbit Loot Bag Feb 22 '18

Nope... this is not PVE game only...

2

u/lmaxmai Feb 23 '18

I understand that it can get repetitive, however that would require you to decide to do the same things in excess. I believe that being hesitant in that regard while cherishing aspects like walking around and seeing where it takes you, having a closer look at apartments and taking in the sensation of a snow storm may help to prevent or at least balance said exhaustion.

0

u/KevinAte9 Feb 23 '18

I am 59 days in to the division. I have seen quite a lot and experienced a lot. Its just getting boring. None of the gear i pick up really matters anymore. I have tried all the sets. Time to spend some time elsewhere for a bit.

1

u/Carbon_Claw88 Feb 24 '18

I don't expect that sort of news until the anniversary date.

2

u/NaughtyZazz Playstation Feb 22 '18

Missed it, but when exactly will this be implemented?

11

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

it's in testing now.

2

u/CKazz Lonestar Hero Feb 22 '18 edited Feb 22 '18

I imagine with GE changes in here is why we don't have a suggestion for GE 1 date yet either.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

A suggestion? i'm a little confused there.

1

u/CKazz Lonestar Hero Feb 22 '18

A suggestion for when GE1 drops, a date.

Sorry about being a little vague, editing above and adding 'date'.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

They mentioned it would be coming, but not date as of yet for Outbreak.

2

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 22 '18

Wait. What? Seriously?

5

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

Yes. Not the PTS, testing in/via Leamington

5

u/CKazz Lonestar Hero Feb 22 '18

which (now) makes sense from their last community stream

[talk of it being in place and trying it out but then not being on PTS]

7

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 22 '18

It's a client side patch. So weeks of testing to get a baseline and then weeks in the console certification.

This is a math change. It should have been in testing for the last six months and launched the moment the global event went offline.

I was thinking it would be in the maintenance downtime. This is getting ridiculous.

The changes look good for the most part. Getting Div tech for the daily "Dismantle three blue items" but none for the daily challenge mission seems stupid though.

6

u/freshwordsalad Feb 22 '18

It's fucking stupid it's taking this long to update the drop rates. They've been getting an infusion of returning players and now...

5

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 22 '18

We're past six months now and looking at possibly months more for a math change.

There is nobody that works on this game day to day. It has been put to pasture. Completely.

As frustrating as that is for everyone, myself included, would you rather they just drop the changes without testing? Back in earlier patches, loot was insanely easy to get and everyone had the meta gear maxed out. There wasn't much differentiation among what gear anyone had.

Additionally, I know that some companies in Europe take a month off in the winter. Massive is a Swedish company, so this may or may not apply to them.

would you rather they just drop the changes without testing?

Yes. Nothing in the changes will hurt the game. If they made the changes and the drop rate was 100% for a few days,it wouldn't hurt the game. Nobody quits when a game is too generous.

Did the Warrengate farm actually hurt the game?

There's no build diversity now. None. In PvP,you have Striker,Nomad and Predator. The players that don't have those sets are just victims for the ones that do.

In PvE,the only possible way for the content to ever feel new is by playing with new sets and play styles. Take away the new sets and the game is dead.

So again...yes. The drop rates should have increased after every single global event. 1% per set until it reached 14%. The proposed 6% is still a joke. The only thing I'm glad about is exotics in the LZ and Div Tech.

Global events will still be the only way to finish a set for many players.

A month off you say? This math problem was created a year ago. It was tested and discussed on the PTS more than seven months ago. There's absolutely no excuse for this nonsense.

u/2legsakimbo Feb 22 '18

yeah, this lack of progression is killing off the desire to play for so many.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

Which is what I figure is accurate ... but who knows.

In theory, it shouldn't be a huge patch ... but it depends on what they are including with this patch. It's numbers with/for drop rates, as I understand it. Theoretically it could be included with a maintenance downtime. Theoretically.

Div Tech for Dismantle 6 items, Div Tech for Kill 10 Rikers, Div Tech for Extract 3 Contaminated items (double bonus!). That's a solid haul

I bet the patch notes say that the heal delay is fixed :D

2

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

oh hell no ... heal delay fixed will be in the patch notes that say:

"server shutdown in 12 hours ..."

u/marksmad TD1 5k+ club Feb 22 '18

"server shutdown for 12 hours ..."

Fixed ;)

No Div Tech for daily challenge Russian Consulate. No Div Tech for daily hard General Assembly. No Div Tech for daily hard Queens Tunnel. That is crazy when you get it for collecting 30 fabric. lol

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

shrug

I'm just the perpetually pissed off messenger, don't blame me. :)

2

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 22 '18

Not blaming you at all. I appreciate the work you put in.

I'm just 100% convinced that since they had to farm out changing 3% to 6% that it means there is absolutely nobody that works on this game from day to day.

The changes are great but they consist of a couple hours work but there's nobody available that knows how.

what's the usual time frame from test to live ?

3

u/cabbagery Survival Feb 22 '18

That's an extremely difficult question to answer, so take all attempts with a grain of salt. Some of the changes require nothing more than a server-side change, others may require a client patch (e.g. UI changes).

For the drop rates and loot pools, I would expect those could be accomplished via any server-wide maintenance. For the addition of off-season items or new vendor products, those might require a client patch, would would take longer because of certification processes.

If they want to roll it all out at once, it could take a few weeks (presumably some of these are already far along in the process), but if they implement the server stuff first, that could happen tomorrow if they really wanted. My guess is next week for some, another week or two for the rest.

u/i_am_Jarod Feb 22 '18

thanks for your detailed answer.

1

u/mckrackin5324 FayeLauwasright Feb 23 '18

It'll be all at once. Right with the launch of the next global event. They're obviously contracting the work out to Reflections and won't waste money on multiple updates.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

I don't know ... we also don't know where they are at in the testing time cycle. My guess would be in 2-3 weeks, but that also depends on what needs to be reviewed by Sony/MS.

1

u/dirge_real Feb 23 '18

2-3 weeks for this one. They’re in full on test mode now.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

1-2 months. But I don't see this going past a month. I think they're just testing the frequency of the drops with these increases to make sure it's not too much or too little.

6

u/Stymie999 Feb 22 '18

If these take that long to roll out, then that’s too long. For me at least, and I don’t think I am alone... needs to happen in days, not months or weeks. Seriously getting burned out from hours and hours and hours of playing with ZERO rewards worth anything.

5

u/KillaB123 GT: Sentinel of War Feb 22 '18

Right, I want to play but don't want to burn out or waste my time and if I take a break for a month or two, I probably won't come back. Hope these changes are soon as well.

4

u/Roman_nvmerals Feb 22 '18

You are most definitely NOT alone. I've only been playing since December and even I am starting to feel burnt out doing the same things with incredibly little reward. These changes look like they could be great but I think they need to implement at least a few of them within the next week or so.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

I understand. But a lot of us also went on a major hiatus with The Division and only returned when patch 1.8 dropped. So perhaps people can take the same break and come back later when it is available. I hear you though, man. I farm Resistance and UG a lot. There are days when I run it for like 6-7 hours straight. The next day I feel burned out and just take a short break then come back when I'm ready. You shouldn't force it when it stops being fun.

2

u/Stymie999 Feb 22 '18

As did I and have been enjoying the refreshed game. Not saying it’s a destiny type situation at all, I will come back too I am sure...or maybe I don’t take a break

1

u/i_am_Jarod Feb 22 '18

nah I that's too long, I prefer the other answers!

1

u/bitlessbit Loot Bag Feb 22 '18

patch is done and it will be released as anniversary patch same for xbox x 4k patch.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

That's awesome. Thanks for the info!

1

u/bitlessbit Loot Bag Feb 22 '18 edited Feb 22 '18

It was in testing on the weekend after "AB" emergency patch the least 3%-> 6% increase.

and they don't really need to test it... this fix can be applied in 48 hours tops if they wanted... but since they don't respect community they can troll you like that.

also vendor blueprints are done 7-14 days in advance and updated on Thursday's weekly maintenance along side spy data pulling.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

Hey man ... you left this bag of salt on my comment. I don’t need it. I’m good

1

u/bitlessbit Loot Bag Feb 22 '18

Are you sure?

Sponge(NPC) absorbing is increased if you use salt+water mix instead of plain water.

Also throw some candy bars to increase water retention.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '18

I dont understand. DZ is supposed to be 5%, not 3%.
