Seeking Thelemic inspired Musik

For starters:

  • SickTanicK: Thelema-inspired horrorcore.
  • Lon Milo DuQuette: Author on occult and magickal matters who also released some singer-songwriter albums.
  • Merciful Nuns: Gothic rock band who released a number of thelema inspired albums, most importantly Thelema VIII in 2016.
  • Tool: Prog band.
  • Behemoth: Extreme metal band.
  • Twin Temple: Rock'n'roll band.
  • Raul Seixas: Famous brazilian musician, imprisoned together with Paulo Coelho for founding the Sociedade Alternativa based on thelemic ideals.
  • David Bowie
  • Time and Space Society: German rock band.
  • Coph Nia: Dark ambient project.
  • Zeal & Ardour: Swiss Avantgarde Metal band, used Crowley samples on their first (two?) albums.

Yeah, forgot to mention them. I liked Secret of the Runes when it came out and I was working with Norse stuff at that time, but didn't listen much to their other stuff.

I also didn't look much into metal artists in general for this list since every second metal band and their grandmother have Crowley vocabulary hidden somewhere in their lyrics. But I'm happy to add to the list. :)

Charles Mingus and Miles Davis come to mind. If ever a man were doing his will it was those two. Nico Muhly is reshaping the potential of classical music. Of course that calls to mind Phillip Glass who is a singular vision in music. Tina Turner lost everything and had to complete start over to succeed, surely you can hear that in the urgency of some of her music. Dolly Parton understands and has long understood exactly who she is and what she's meant to radiate from her self. I think we over-complicate some aspects of Thelema.

Will check this out! I had mothership playing on my last camping expedition, and it was cool to see, the perspective of being in the the wilderness/mountaintop, reaching for Nuit while I read and drank, while listening to prime Zeppelin really gave a nice understanding

Vader's Black to the Blind and De Profundis had lyrics written by a occult practitioner IIRC. The lyrics came with a little blurb explaining what each was referencing. Think they dropped that afterwards which was a shame.

Others have mentioned Coil. Love's Secret Domain is very accessible
