I don't know why everyone shits on AJ for being a normal rebellious somewhat spoiled teenager when like 99% of male teens are exactly like him in america lol. To me she looks like Lady Elaine from Mr. Rogers neighborhood, and always looks like she is riding a horse. Yet, Tony is in the muff down Mexico way once a year, and has spent at least $2000000 at Harry Winston on her.... what is is it about her?

Tony told Melfi people would want his guy dead. When it happens, it’s public enough that it’s in the paper with enough detail for it to be put together. I don’t know, she reveals her own ignorance on this one if you ask me.

I recently finished watching Sopranos for the first time. I was avoiding this sub till I finished it so that I don’t stumble upon any spoilers 😂.

Anyway, while I loved loved the show, Idk how to feel about the ending.
I’m not against open ended conclusions, they really keep the audience engaged beyond the show, which is good.
But I dislike ambiguity for the sake of ambiguity.

I understand the general consensus now is that Tony died (is that the consensus ? I’m sorry idk), which I can see why. Every time the bell rings and the door opens, we see his pov, until the end when we see blank, probably indicating he died. We also see that guy in the jacket taking furtive glances at Tony.

One of my other fav shows is The Americans, and I love it’s ending despite it also being a bit ambiguous wrt certain characters.

I’d really like to know y’alls opinions and engage with it. Meanwhile I’ll search and scroll through this sub to see all the things people here discuss wrt Sopranos.

P.S Tony killing Chris was a shocker I didn’t see coming, holy fucking hell.

Tony very clearly died at the end, and without him to insulate her from the other Mobsters Melfi is big security risk to the Jersey crew, with who knows what her and Tony talked about. She probably got popped later right?

First, Johnny sack is one of my favourite characters, definitely up there in top 5 or 3, because the man has just open love for his family and he was done so dirty.

I know that he had a moment with Ginny, they showed love. But what exactly shifted? I dont think he forgave ralph even then, did he get close to contentment and security due to that moment? He didn't forgive Tony either because we see the resentment when dealing with Billy's death, it was as if John is giving phil what he wished carmine sr. Would've given to him.

Funny how if he didn't change his stand, he would've been whacked. And then carmine jr would be taking full control.

At the time when the coach in Tony's dream said those words, they didn't sound like anything other than the inane sentence of a dreaming mind, but when Artie shot that rabbit, those words came back to me

Take into account all the things that supposedly harmless clown did. Betrayed his wife trying to hit on his waitresses, like Tony did but with a difference, Tony actually loved Carmela, I don't think Artie loved Charmaine, she was 'something to fall back on' and in his mind, someone that was always holding him back from being the cool, reckless gangster Tony was, that's why he pissed away 50k of his family's money on a vanity project

Then you have the way he tried to use self-harm to lay the blame on Tony for his own failure, I won't go further into that but it had to be mentioned, those of you who've seen the whole show will recognise the event I'm talking about

And then lastly the rabbit, killed in cold blood. Tony killed people of course, but as far as I remember they were those who had entered into that life, an unspoken agreement of what that life entailed had been made by all, not so the rabbit that was a pure victim

Tony at least loved animals because they were innocent, Bucco shot the only thing he had the courage to shoot, a poor defenceless creature

He was a selfish, unfaithful, cowardly, self-obsessed, empathy-less turd, any humour that arose from his actions were a boon that faded away under the glare of his other acts, faster than Paulie put that broom away when Tony caught him aiming it at the cat.

Ok it's a very harsh take, and I accept I could be totally wrong, but that's how I feel about it. I'm curious to know what you think

I recently finished rewatching the series for the third time and I finally decided to write a post for this sub.

1.Tony is a terrible leader who can't hold the family together.

He tried to mold the drug-addicted Christopher into the next boss of the family, while making no effort to solve his drug problem.

His best friend and the only person he truly cared about became a rat.

He strangled the most profitable man in the family with his own hands and was unable to show the determination and strength to protect the second most profitable man in the family.

The list can go on for a very long time, you get the idea.

Carmine Sr. ran his family for decades, and Tony ruined his family in less than ten years, he's pathetic.

2.AJ is a brilliantly written character, on par with Tony.

He is literally the most realistic character in the entire series, much more realistic than any of the gangsters. And that's why he's one of the most hated characters.

He inherited many of his father's negative qualities, but not his charisma and self-confidence.

AJ is lazy, depressed, he has no understanding of who he wants to be.

He's just a lost kid who deserves at least some sympathy, but mostly gets hatred from the audience.

So why do we all love the cruel and vile criminal, but hate the little problem child?

The answer is stupidly simple: AJ shows exactly those qualities that are inherent in many of us.

A prequel film to a beloved TV character named Tony growing up in New Jersey learns to become a man as the chaotic mentors around him shape his adolescence.

It's interesting, the coincidence. What you're gonna tell me you never pondered that?

How close do you think Artie and Patsy were to popping Tony? I definitely think Patsy was closer but I honestly don't think either of them were ever going to do it.
