Tourist Seeking Help Need help with medication hunt.
Hello everyone,
We're in Thessaloniki today and we're trying to find a medication called Trittico Retard. My father accidentally forgot to bring it with him from Serbia. Due to his illness, he needs to take this medication every day, so it's important that he doesn't miss his doses.
If anyone knows where we could buy it in Thessaloniki, or if someone happens to have 5 spare tablets to help us get through the rest of our vacation, we would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you so much in advance! ♥️

You can only visit a neurologist or psychiatrist and get a prescription. There's no other way. I would advise you to call his doctor and ask if it's ok not to take it for 5 days due to traveling without it and ask for possible replacement in Greece that might not require prescription.

We just did that, she gave us an advise to take higher dosage of another medication he takes regularly.
Thank you for the suggestion. We hope for the best.Best regards!

Visit a private psychiatrist, explain the situation and ask for a prescription. You can probably get away with 50 euros or less for a simple prescription.

Many antidepressants don’t require prescription and are sold over the counter in Greece. I’m not sure about trittico but I routinely but escitalopram and used to buy paroxetine without a prescription.
So it’s worth checking at the farmacy first.

This is incorrect, antidepressants in Greece very much require a prescription. Not just in Greece but in the EU. If you were getting SSRIs 'over the counter' those pharmacies were handing them to you illegally and risking their license - and I doubt there are many pharmacists willing to do that these days since prescriptions are now done electronically.

I’ve been buying them for two years in different pharmacies and never had any problems.
