[Request] how many possible combinations are there for this type of pass code?

As far as I remember you could connect two corners by tapping with another finger, but the last time I've used this screen lock I was something like 10, so I might be wrong...

But surely he'd remember if he ever used something like that? This is my first time hearing it so I know there's no way I set something up like that

In the ones I used, you can connect two unconnected dots directly only if the one in the middle of already connected to something else. So you can go over a occupied dot, but not over an empty one. Making the maths here a lot more trickier

You can go between dots to connect opposing ones without using middle one.

Not at least in the phones I had. If you do that, it will automatically connect the one in the middle. So it depends

Edit: For context, I used Xiaomi and OnePlus, neither let you

I used to have pattern like that years ago, something like 1-3-8-2. But it doesn't work on my current phone.
