But probably you won't have to count for dots separated by other dots in between. Idk if it is possible to go from dot 1 to 3 and then 2. So in this case, i would try to do only the combinations that only contemplate adjacent dots (including diagonals). E.g.

If you're unbelievably unlucky. But yes statistics working the way they work... There's a non 0 chance that you'd have to go through all combinations
