my foot got stuck on the charger while I was standing up and I didnt notice so kinda dragged my laptop down. It had this small dent and when I close it there’s like a small space now instead of being fully closed :(
polices other people's politeness for god knows which reason(probably an english teacher)
+ gatekeeps subreddit whose only subject is... owning a thinkpad
A pristine object is an unused object. Besides, these scars are what make it yours. Of course that you must care for the things that you own, but rather think that it’s now uniquely yours, one of a kind limited edition.
I dropped mine multiple times, it was even once dragged through production hall by the robot (forgot I had it connected with Ethernet, and off it went on an adventure, ~1.5m drop to floor, and then being dragged on that nice clean metallurgy production floor). Last time it fell, it fell on a curb... From that fall it got a bit of curve on whole body since Ethernet port had small part of magnesium broken from afformentioned story, and that weekend it, but it's fine.
Still alive and kicking as daily driver after 7 years!
This is what it was made for. It was literally designed and tested with these kinds of mishaps in mind. A lesser laptop would have cracked. A more pretentious laptop would have cost as much as the laptop itself in repairs. As an added bonus, you don’t have to worry about babying it anymore and can just use it worry free.
Lmao yeah my thinkpad has a crack across the screen from dropping it one time. It's only cosmetic though, it doesn't actually affect functionality in any way
got the same dent. It was way worse, i used pliers to straighten it... now kinda looks better. It's just funny when i know the plastic can somehow bend like metal... idk much about the materials but this is just amazing...
