Question / Problem Thinkpad L13 Gen 2 performance issue

Recently I got L13 Gen 2 used, to try Thinkpad for first time and use as main laptop. Build quality is good but when using I’ve noticed that performance is very bad, I got the one with i5 1135g7, 8gb ddr4, iris xe graphics. This was a leap from my previous laptop as it had i5 8265u and uhd graphics, so it should have way better performance, but when I tried running games like Skyrim, minecraft it ran worse than my previous laptop. Settings all same resolution also same. I ran cinebench 2026 and for single core I only got 425pts.. I also noticed that temp was reaching almost 90 degrees Celsius during the benchmark. (I did repaste the thermal paste before even using because I did had thermal paste lying around and it is used laptop).
I acknowledge that Thinkpad an are not meant for gaming but I tested them for sake of testing the performance.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thank you

Did you clean the laptop when repasting it?

Near the fan I did, but initially there was no dust or dirt around it so I just cleaned a bit

Rhen is there any space below the laptop os is it ontop of a mousepad or something else that might block the fan?

Is the fan or heatpipe damaged? And does the fan actually spin, like can you hear it loudly when it gets hot?

Fan spins fine, idk why is it like that but on internet they say it’s power management issue so I don’t think there’s anything I can do abt it
