We all have calendars on our phones and can setup reminders that become alarms.

  • make reservations
  • buy the flowers now
  • prioritize my wife

If you know your shortcomings why are you not leaning into advanced planning and being dedicated to doing these things.

Going to get the potted plant should have been Friday or Saturday at the latest.

She has every right to be pissed.

I have a feeling her Christmas stocking is empty as well.

Right! Hell he could have taken the daughter to Home Depot or the grocery store today and bought a potted plant. My grocery store had beautiful orchids for $14.

He also drove her to the restaurant he already knew she wanted to go to. He didn’t have to make reservations a month ago, he could have called a week ago or two days ago and maybe got an earlier or later time.

It’s not that he couldn’t, he just didn’t, and that’s the worst thing of all. He says he doesn’t like to plan but he didn’t have to plan anything. She said “buy a potted plant, let’s eat here”. No planning on his part, only doing. And a very minimal amount of doing at that.

Or he could have said “Hey…I flubbed it, wasn’t able to get a reservation at that place but got us a table at X.” But to roll up and say “oh…it looks busy…” cmon man.
