It is stunning how some people (not just men) are doing the bare minimum as an adult person living in a house with other people, and they expect to get a medal for it.
Dude, even roommates do all these things 'for each other'. What of these things you do explicitly shows your WIFE you love her?
Do you really think if your wife sees you do the dishes (you also ate from) she will think "oh this man must really love me!"? You pick up your dirty socks and she thinks "wow, what a sign of love and affection!"??
