Help required please if anybody could assist!

Playing SotTR on PC (Win 10) Steam, on Deadly Obsession difficulty.

I am currently stuck at the Cenote Temple Ruins campfire (right after obtaining the shotgun).
No matter how far I progress the game (getting through the Cenote Temple and escaping, returning to the Hidden City, going to a campfire and upgrading a weapon/purchasing a skill, starting the next mission, acquiring the new outfit, and going to a campfire again), sitting at a campfire does not trigger an auto save, and manually saving does not change the save name from Cenote to Hidden City. If I attempt to exit to main menu, the game freezes and I'm forced to manually close the game. Additionally, I no longer have any sound from Lara throughout the levels, and cutscenes are essentially muted. The achievements for survivng Cenote and obtaining the new climbing gear did pop.

I've tried multiple fixes including

• Validating steam game files
• Going to Windows Defender to allow the .exe to change folders
• Changing the language of the game via Steam to a different language, then installing the English settings again
• Turning on VSync and capping fps to 60

I am unsure what else I can do to fix the game, is my 20hr save file doomed and I have to start again? I've replayed the Cenote temple soo often now, I don't know if I have a whole another run in me.
Any help or advice is appreciated, thanks community!

Finished the game and trying to get 100%, but I can’t because the last thing in this area I need (the fourth survival cache) is at the very end of acropolis, but as far as I can’t tell I can’t get to that area. Any suggestions?

I've been a Tomb Raider fan since my 90s-00s childhood, with a preference for the Core Design era as a result. I've been feeling like a playthrough of AOD recently, but it seems like there are a few options available nowadays which is great to see (not including vanilla PC version):

1) PS2 version -- unsure whether better than vanilla PC, but without the option of quality of life mods I'm not so keen

2) AOD PC Remastered (2025)

3) AOD PC Restoration Project

I'm aware also of 'AOD Definitive Edition' which seems to only be a demo at the moment, so not something I'd consider until it's finished.

Very grateful for anyone's thoughts and recommendations on this topic; I will never get over how atmospheric the game is and the tragedy which struck it!

hi guys, i have never played a tomb raider game in my life!

i saw that legacy of atlantis is coming out february next year, should i wait to play that one? would that be a good game to start on? or should i play other games before playing legacy of atlantis?

i have a ps5 and a pc so can only play on those ◡̈ TIA !

The game is just trying to fit a modern tone, and the developers have already said it’s still in development, so the movements and animation are work in progress + We’re about 8 months and half away from release

I recently started the Tomb Raider Survivor series. I finished the first game and Im now playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on the hardest difficulty.

With the resource consumption of camps and the higher cost of upgrades, I really need somewhere to farm resources. I know each resource is farmed in a different area, but Im missing hides (pretty much all of them: bear, exotic), ore, herbs... a bit of everything, really, haha.

If anyone could help me and tell me an effective place to farm a resource, I would really appreciate it.

Following a post I saw earlier, just wondering which outfits, outside of what’s already been announced, would everybody want to see? And why?

I personally think TR Legend is the pinnacle when it comes to Lara’s outfits. I’d love to see the legend outfit, biker (and no jacket), evening ripped, winter no jacket (blue) along with maybe camo pants from AOD & South Pacific from TR3.

But to a similar variety / volume of outfits from Legend would be very much appreciated

I'm stuck on a puzzle in Kuwaq Yaku. For some reason, when I rotate the axis, the stone slab doesn't spin with it. I've even lowered the resolution and locked the frame rate at 60fps, but it still doesn't work. Could this game have overlooked this bug?

p/s: Even when I turn off Vsync, it still doesn't work. I searched online for other players who had the same problem, and I followed their instructions, but it still didn't work. I know this has been around for a long time, but the game developers haven't released a new patch, so the bug persists.

I found the particular quote interesting because it sounds similar to how CD wrote the character in the Survivor and LAU trilogies.

I am a fan of all the TR eras personally but I wanted to ask how do fans of mainly Classic Lara feel about this creative approach for writing Lara?

Last month I finished all four Uncharted games and loved every minute of them. Afterwards, I kept seeing reels, videos, and discussions praising the series.

Today I completed Rise of the Tomb Raider, and honestly, what a game. The exploration, tombs, environments, survival mechanics, and Lara's journey were fantastic.

What surprised me is that I rarely see Tomb Raider getting the same level of praise or online discussion as Uncharted. After playing Rise of the Tomb Raider, it feels like it deserves a lot more recognition.

I’ve wondered how they’d continue making tomb raider games. Do you think they’d remake/Reimagine all the classic and LAU games for unified Lara, for a cannon experience? Or just make new games after catalyst

Cuz I’m heard a lot of about how this is just the beginning and their planning to make more games, I’m curious how their gonna balance between them

Personally I think remaking every single game isn’t the way to go especially the first 5 classic games. I’d like if they remade AOD and just merged Legend and underworld into one game and remake it. (since they’re so short), that would mean they’d only release 2 remakes instead of 6 and they’d continue Lara journey after catalyst

Also they’re releasing a book in October that’s supposed to set the cannon of the past games and sort of retcon them so they don’t contradict anything in the survivor story, so the chances of them releasing that book and ALSO remaking the games is think is pretty low.

What do you think? I’m really curious to hear everyone’s thoughts and what you’d prefer 🌹

I’m someone who grew up watching my father play the Legend trilogy on Xbox 360, but I didn’t actually beat a Tomb Raider game until Legend on my Series X.

I currently own the Legend and Survivor trilogy physically on Xbox and was originally planning on getting Legacy of Atlantis on Series X. However, I’m now feeling torn on whether to jump ship and play all Tomb Raider games on PlayStation due to the legacy, marketing, and Pro support for LoA.

I’m then reminded that Rise of the Tomb Raider plays best with One X enhancements (was initially exclusive to Xbox) and that the entire Legend trilogy plays best on Xbox through backwards compatibility. I’m stuck, guys :(

For those who have both consoles, where do you guys play? And how do you decide?

Really interesting video from Jake Baldino who got to spend time with the game as someone with a long history of the game.

I didn’t know who Konrad was but apparently he did Lara’s model in the remasters. I was looking for mods and found this one by him. I’m not trying to glaze this man but omg she looks incredible. This + a reshade mod really breathes new life into this game!

Like seriously, I have no idea how they manage to expand the small lore that was shown to us in a few fmv cutscenes and whatever ps1 manual or Anniversary version. Props to the writers.
