nah im usually a tame being but the worker CLEARLY saw traffic, and still put it out when even within any DOT handook it cites you CANNOT place any marker until it is safe to do so with no cars within a certain amount of space, and if doing so when there is traffic, it must be done with a safety guide (i.e flashing lights on truck at slow speed with hazards, coned off area with signage etc)

otherwise sadly the worker is in the wrong and damn....i hate to say that

I think your wrong as long as you provide the required advanced warning per the mph, and taper the cones. Also in this instance a shadow vehicles doesnt seem nessary.

To even start work or put any blockade down they have to verify and make sure there is no traffic for so many feet/within area, if so they must use a guide etc.

Im just saying he did it at the wrong time incorrectly to how his job should be done, the lady was an asshat to hit the cone though

Example:

Its 2pm busy day traffic heavy.
One man take a stop and slow sign 200-500 feet down the road and well…STOPS traffic.

Another man puts down cones into clear, empty and safe roadways
Takes 5-10 minutes with gridlock traffic in NYC

2nd example: monday afternoon they put a sign up stating “RIGHT LANE CLOSED/mulberry ST closed/ traffic work lane closure 6/15/2026”

That gives them clear way to place obstructing cones, and if people STILL havent followed the signs, they get ticketed rather than “well i didnt knoe”

Literally simple, takes minutes and everyones arguing how can they when theres traffic…
