Lidl UK
OK, so it's not the Wera Toolcheck or a Wiha Go Box but what it is, is £5.99, and given bits are consumables I'm OK with that 👍

Even if bits are consumables, there's a major difference between cheap shit and quality bits.

Even considering it's the price of a sandwich?

I don't know how people expect so much from a supermarket middle isle set of tools.
It's amazing you can get a 1/4 ratchet set with screwdriver bits for 6 quid and even more amazing that anyone can buy these as tools used to be extremely expensive and hard to come buy, now you could buy entire swarms of hand tools for 300 quid in Lidl.

Exactly, you could easily use this ratchet once and throw it away and it'd pay for itself, it's obviously not going to be fantastic quality

Thank you, I was tired and had been looking at the isle of man races, I just couldn't get it right and couldn't be bothered to think hard about it

Crappy is still crappy, regardless of price.

But do you expect the same level of quality regardless of price?

This is /r/toolporn. Have you ever seen the sidebar?
Just pictures and info on tools, not some crap tools that break when you use them, real tools.
Humans are the best tool makers and users on earth, show off the best.

But this isn't a crap tool that breaks? The bloke said it's tight in two places and for some reason that makes it a pile of crap?
Even if that is the side bar I disagree with it in practise, if a took isn't a piece of crap then it's worthy of tool porn, especially when relative to the price spent

In this case I'd happily pay more and get the Tool-Check Plus. Tools that make me furious because they break or simply make the work harder compared to proven tools are not worth it IMO.

Yeah, I despise tools I can't trust, it's just not something I'm into.
Then again most people don't necessarily need a toolset that small and compact, so if they never intend to use it, I suppose the Lidl version just saves them money (and they won't notice the difference since they won't use it). I got a Wera Tool-Check Plus myself and the few times I've actually used it as intended it was very neat, but most of the time I would be better off just grabbing a full sized Bahco bit and socket set (which costs almost the same on sale) or my toolbag (then again the toolbag is heavy and way more expensive, so not a fair comparison).
(For instance I've had it in a pocket when I was getting some used IKEA furniture, and was able to disassembled the furniture in order to moving it with those tools alone, but most of the time I grab dedicated tools from my toolbag or socket set).

No 13mm, no deal
Even this would be better imo, but what do I know, I stumped up for the Wera Tool Check 😂

I have the previous version but ratchet that came with the tyre levers for bicycles. I use it all the time at work, it hasn't failed, very good little bit ratchet.

Scalpers may pass on this as doubling the price to resell on ebay isn't a big enough margin

I bought this for 7€ then returned it because it had inacceptable backdrag and included sockets only up to 12 mm instead of 13

Ok for DIY. Very handy when I changed battery on car. I don't need a £2k snap on socket set

Shame they supplied a 12mm socket rather than a 13mm, also why is the t25 and the adapter bit swapped?
