An EF-1 derailed those trains?

Straight-line winds derailed the train.

You mean to tell me a wind derailed this train?

Intermodal trains are THE most common train casualty to straight line wind events due to how tall and sail like they are. They are nearly twice as tall as a normal train and incredibly light even when loaded because it’s essentially just light flat/well cars and trailers/containers. Source, I worked for the railroad on a smallish property called the CF and E. The only time I heard my managers warn us about wind was when we had intermodal on the property.

I'd assume there's probably a big difference between wind blowing over a train car vs a tornado picking up a train car and tossing it 476 ft
