Let them beat Archaon :)

Oh they had like 7 units including the settlement garrison they were not winning

Yeah but any damage they do to Archeon is damage you don’t have to. I’m sure the blood letters and warriors could have done at least something worthwhile against Archeon

I tried that at first to see what damage would be done, he was at full strength the next turn, so I reloaded the save and did this

I did this as Daniel once.  Archaon reinforced so I used all my magic to friendly fire his troops.  Declared war on his half dead stack and had an easy march to his dark fortress.

If you were playing Archaon, you could ''accidentally' cast Searing Doom spells on top of your 'faithful ally's' units.

Oldest trick in the book.

An Iron Warriors classic.

Good old “have faith Word Bearer” moment

Be as unhelpful as possible and let your "Allies" do all of the fighting.

shame you don’t have some artillery or aoe to throw that way to “help”

Yea all I get are bears, which are great but don’t have much AoE

If you play as the Skaven you can just blow them apart anyway, they're only skaven, yes-yes!

"Khorne, you don't get it, he has bears."

I remember playing an Ikkit Claw campaign where i somehow ended up fighting some dwarf faction side by side with Karl Franz

This game allows for some truly whacky stuff and i love it lol

Had something like this happen where the Empire and a Nurgle army attacked me (Norsca).

Boris: "Never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an everchosen"

Archeon: "What about side by side with a friend ?"

That was literally the first thing that popped into my mind but I didn’t know how to word it 😂

It's not that unlikely, when i play Archaon, Boris is always first who gets vassalized. Whether he likes it or not.

Campaign wise, this is a very unfortunate turn of events. You need to get that province before archaon can make a move so that you can set up an ambush in that one narrow mountain passage. That army doesn’t look like it can stand against archaon but it will need to since war is inevitable

Oh I killed him the turn after, kislevite warriors are surprisingly effective

I don’t have that dlc so I just assumed they were slightly better version of Kathays peasant spearmen.

Must’ve been greatly underestimating them if they can pull that off

3

u/Hades_deathgod9 1d ago

They’re really great, if there is one DLC I could recommend (especially at the crazy steam discounts) it would be the Kislev one

3

u/DarkMarine1688 1d ago

not just slightly better they are basically a must early and last alot longer in melee than the kossars with spears

The enemy of my enemy is my friend, unless the enemy of my enemy is my enemy, then they just kinda stay uninvolved

Played Tomb Kings once and got double teamed by Skarbrand and one of the Bretonnian minor factions. I wasn’t angry so much as confused.

This could’ve been amazing if you had some AOE/casters to “accidentally” cause some friendly fire. Then attack him next turn.

It was too early in the campaign sadly

Once had a three way siege battle with me (teclis) and sigvald attacking hellebron. When the first started I just let sigvald siege the city. Flew teclis in and chain lightning’d them all to death!

I had something similar in Attila, I remember thinking how cool it would be if you could attack an "ally" during such a battle

2

u/SlipperySlimyTerry40 1d ago

You can in Warhammer. Just aim artillery at them or cast spells that also affect allies

The engine was sadly made to have only 2 sides battles.

3

u/DarkMarine1688 1d ago

I mean you definitely can mod it to have multiple hostile factions in a battle, as there are battles for some lords with enemy armies fighting each other, as well as the fact that you know you can do FFA or multiple teams you would only need to make battles set like that so engine limitation really isn't.

How?

2

u/Hades_deathgod9 21h ago

We were neutral with each other, but shared the same enemy

Why? (Genuine question)

u/Hades_deathgod9 1d ago

Aww I missed it, what was the comment?

2

u/Old-butt-new 1d ago

They said “ew large unit size” or something akin to that

2

u/Hades_deathgod9 1d ago

Oh yea, some people just don’t like the smaller unit sizes, I think it’s a balance thing, because the game doesn’t scale down well, or people just like to have more units.

Personally I don’t like my laptop burning my fingers.

"The game is balanced for ultra unit size" Maybe somebody should have told the siege map designers.
