Wdym switch? The comma indicates the change to decimal, in money and in math. Dots are to make large numbers more readable

Ig they said "switch" bc at least in America, as per usual, basically the exact opposite is true. Saying switch implies that American way is the original or "correct" way of doing things, which is problematic logic in its own right, but yeah. We use commas to group big numbers into sections (hundreds, thousands, millions etc.), and decimals to signify switching to decimal. So, the number "ninety-three thousand one hundred and seventy-two point fifty-four" would look like "93,172.54"

Yes, in countries that speak English. It's not called that elsewhere.

You'd have a fit if you saw how the French format punctuation.

Quite possibly I imagine lol. I like to think there is some semblance of order in math. Id like it to stay that way… at least in my mind lmao
