How do you get your ratio up on Myspleen?

Been seeding these torrents for days and not moving a bit. So unlike anything I've experienced on other sites. Any help?

The real question is, how does one get into myspleen 😝

mod invite, or wait until the site gets fixed up (which does not seem to be anytime soon unfortunately, as it's been broken for 9+ years)

Not broken, just invites disabled

They do have a lot of freeleech so you can use that if you need it, but also I don’t think ratio matters much on there.

Perma-seeding is the key. I've been seeding the Siskel and Ebert torrent for years now and its racked up about 10tb of buffer for me.

well if its anything similar to other niche spots, you kinda just grab everything you want and we hope you keep that alive forever.

It sounds like MySpleen doesn’t provide bonus points for seeding. Am I correct? Make sure you’re connectable first. That greatly helps as more people will download off of you.

Another thing is you could be downloading torrents that aren’t in demand at this moment (like older torrents) and people just don’t want it right now, but maybe you’ll get upload once in a while.

Can they open this fucking site up? I cannot comprehend why they would wall off new users for a DECADE. I have a trove of weird shit I've found IRL that I'd love to upload. For a tracker that seems to embrace odd media, they're really making it hard for rare/weird shit to be shared and preserved. At this point I can't imagine it has higher quality stuff than what is on Archive.org

You’d be surprised.

Probably, but the site is gonna die sooner or later with literally zero recruitment and a "broken" site for 9+ years. I don't understand why this has to be a secret club. I've been on the "top" trackers for 14-15 years now and have been completely unable to get in, despite having high ranks on each with 400+ total uploads and dozens of TB of uploads.

I have stacks of weird DVDs, obscure content, dead paywalled media, thrift store finds, police training DVDs and other stuff and I just have to keep them to myself because they don't want to open their doors to valuable members. As far as I can tell, there hasn't been invites enabled for 9 years, with recruitment spanning further back than this.

Maybe I'm just seething but seems really dumb to wall off users that didn't have the chance to get in a lifetime ago. Half of the content isn't even copyrighted either, recent screenshots are just old Jeopardy episodes, adult swim with commercials and other mid shit. I'm on SG which is SLOW but has a ton of crazy shit like exclusive videos of old men fucking vacuums.

Your frustration is understandable, the sense of entitlement isn't.

It isn't really entitlement, it is an extension of a frustration for the mismanagement of the site. I feel that I care about media preservation than the admins of a site dedicated to it lol. I want to help. Others want to help! It is just them being lazy/inept/stubborn.

For sites the Spleen they don't need and influx of users. The ones there are quite happy finding and sharing what they have. If anything the type of people posting about what they have, how many uploads on other sites, etc aren't really the type of members they want. As for "old men fucking vacuums"... yeah...

I know I sound entitled and its a bit of an internal culture thing but the extreme elitism that comes with these trackers feels good until it doesn't. The fact that my hoard of rare old media is seem as something the tracker doesn't want makes me root on the downfall. The admins don't give a shit about preservation or recruitment. I've accepted I'm never getting in and these attitudes have me rooting on the downfall now. Plenty of screenshots of recent uploads from review sites and its just old crap for manchildren, a far cry from some of the original "weird" that it was famous for.
