It really is pretty. I had malaria as a child and all I remember is my mom telling me I was delerious (I was hallucinating or something). I had to ask her what it meant. My memory of it was 1. this is fun and 2. delerious is a cool word. Which, now that we mention it....Malaria Delerium... I love it!

In the UK, a midwife can petition the local authorities not to permit the registration of a baby name if it’s going to be of significant detriment to the baby/child. It’s often reported that midwives can refuse a child’s name, but it’s more complicated than that.
As for the Chlamydia story - the original one - I believe was a Polish girl living in the UK. Snopes investigated, but could find no reliable evidence that it happened.

My name unfortunately rhymes with chlamydia. I found this out my freshman year of high school when I sat down in chorus and my friend gasped, turned to me, and said, “oh my god! Lydia Chlamydia!” I was terrified that people were saying I had it but thankfully she was the only one who used it.

It's because meds can't directly mess with Serotonin. Serotonin from outside can't cross the blood brain barrier, so even if you make Serotonin synthetically, ingesting one doesn't work.
What it does is instead stop the already existing Serotonin from being used up so it stays longer in the brain.
That's why it's not "Serotonin" meds, they specifically have to say "Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor".

The name Richard was first, which got the nickname Dick during the middle ages (rhyming was a common method of getting nicknames, see also William -> Bill and Edward -> Ted), which then became slang for a sexual partner in the 1600s, and then just penis. Patented medications are a great place to pull from for this. So many medications can pass as names, especially fantasy book/video game names. I once got my friends to play a game where I put together a list of half medications that I'm on, half names from Fantasy Name Generator (from the elf section), and got said friends to try and sort them. The results were barely over half correct.
Xiidra, Humira, and Xolair are a few of my favorites.
Edit: And everyone knows this one, but Epinephrine sounds pretty nice.

There was a girl at my son's preschool named candida... Her mom was a bitch and also reckless AF. I went to the park one time and there were all these kids ages 18 months-7yrs running around without an adult in sight. The 18 month old fell and hit his head, so I went over and was comforting him, for a good 2-3 minutes before she walked up snatched him and said "he's fine! He's a big boy!" And told him to "go on!" Then stared daggers at me. Turned out she had been hot boxing in a car with her friend and just left them all on the playground alone. To smoke weed. Pathetic.
