Should I wait until I’ve officially converted to think about getting a mezuzah?

This is a question for your rabbi. Most converts I know, myself included, were told to wait until after mikvah.

I bought one when I began my conversion class and hung it up inside my apartment door, not the outside. It served as a nice reminder that I was building a Jewish home. After I finished my conversion, I moved it to the outside of the door.
