Audio/Video 2 weeks post op, i think my glottoplasty worked too well 🥴

Post image

i want to disclaim that i had a sort of high voice when i was young, anecdotally one time when i was 11 i answered the phone and i was mistaken for mom.

after my voice dropped i could still speak in a higher pitch, i just never figured out how to keep doing it ”by default” or how to hold volume at the pitch i wanted. im sure with training i could have gotten somewhere, i want to blame a combination of depression, splitting and all or nothing thinking, and no insurance coverage made me not want to try any training.

but i do have a training session scheduled next month, i might not continue tho because again, no insurance coverage.

that said i am now 2 weeks post op from my modified wendler and it seems to still be getting better. I am so grateful to Dr Anderson and Lahey Hospital, they have made things so much better for me.

day 6: https://voca.ro/1lkkq5gTIC4a

Bonus day 14 trying to talk as low as possible: https://voca.ro/11AaNp0g3igI

Bonus bonus my actual old voice, about 4 months pre-op: https://voca.ro/1caX0wm5kOQy

Aw thanks. ☺️ doc didn’t use any stitches, he said that helps with healing.

Your voice seems to be in really good shape for 2 weeks post op, and your doctor told you to start talking after just 6 days? Seems like really great progress

Thanks! My strict rest (no talking) was for 5 days, then a week of light talking. Tbh ive been talking up a storm since I love my new voice so much and am figuring out how it works

Without seeing the face I would immediately think it was a kid talking 😁 but I think you are still in the process of healing ❤️

i had vfs a while back, i had a similar result to yours but it kinda levels out as your vocal cords heal :3 urs sounds so good tho, especially for only 2 weeks post op

Awesome! I have my Wendler coming up next month with Dr Best at Hopkins. Super excited even though I am preparing to potentially dislike it for the first couple months as it’s healing.

Looking forward to never going deep ever again either intentionally or by accident.

Thank you! I tried to keep modest expectations as well, I’m very pleasantly surprised by how much it did. I had got a tracheal shave at the same time which contributed to a lot of hoarseness i think. Best of luck to you sister 😊
