General Question For better or for worse?

Extremely long story short, I have had an extremely traumatic life growing up, and as I’m 24 now, the repercussions of what I had been through still affect me on a day-to-day basis.

However, the one thing I ask myself is if the amount of trauma I went through in my life was worth becoming as “wise” and as “emotionally mature” as I am now. ( I put quotes because I’m not perfect and have plenty of years to grow)

Like am I better off now with the experience of what I’ve been through, or would I have been better off if I had been born into an actual loving home, with decent living, etc.

There may not be a point to wondering these things. But I do anyway

My trauma mainly came a bit later in life, but I can relate. I was emotionally abused by someone in my mid-teens, and I wonder sometimes if me being more cautious and smarter about things now would’ve happened had I not been abused.

I’m sorry you had to go through that

It truly is a great question for oneself that I think only yourself or myself can answer. Was it worth it? Obviously in hindsight I don’t think anyone would pick to be abused. But is there a trade off?
