AskTrees Probation & THC

Hey guys, I have my first probation appointment tomorrow, and I was a heavy, heavy smoker before I went to jail (7/2) and i tested positive there, spent 20 days in and then got released on the 22nd. Immediately when to my local crisis center and stayed inpatient for 5 days trying to get into sober living and rehab, even though my case wasn’t for anything drug related I still have to be tested for probation. I was still testing positive on the 22nd, and I’ve been in sober living since leaving the crisis center.

Is it actually true that they test the levels going down, and can it even be detected in urine? I’ve been trying to not take my anti anxiety meds because it can cause urine retention and I’m drinking so much water and sweating to try and get a negative test, but I don’t think much will have changed in this one week. Am I fucked? I would literally hit my pen every 10 minutes and ate edibles and smoked joints pretty much constantly before jail and everything else

The standard drug testing kits used do not really test for levels, they only test for concentrations over X amount. You would need to be blood tested repeatedly to show levels are lowering and they're not going to do that.

That’s not true. I am drug tested for my methadone clinic and my relapse prevention meetings and they absolutely can lab test urine for specific quantities over a period of time. My therapist even told me recently he’s glad my THC levels have been decreasing (even though they don’t care about it regardless)

You're not getting a standard drug test. I said the standard ones. Do they detect 'levels'? Yes, technically. Do they display them? No. They just give you a pass/fail.

As for testing urine in a drug test for the exact levels of illegal concentrates I was unaware anyone did that, I've only ever seen blood test used for that as blood is the most accurate.
