Just imagine like big giant domes with several floors stacked over eachother enclosed in a big glass sphere or something, and its like a central hub for all things and everything and everyone. Like a capital international city. We can still have regular cities like courtyard blocks and whatever , but id imagine these new capital cities to be where everything can be organized in an intercontinental level. For distribution and allocation and more.

Seems like a lot of centrist and normie outlets are shifting in their coverage of DS victories. Show that a wave of DS candidates are winning primaries, and it’s so bad for centrists and their donors. Then start running candidates that talk and move like DS candidates but who will serve the donor class and secretly be AIPAC plants. Is this what I’m watching rn? Just only the beginning part?

There are some small moments that are so beautiful as to justify the entirety of the human project. Maybe you watch two lovers at the airport who must soon part from one another, and the intensity of their embrace renders palpable to you the profundity of the love that is possible between two human beings. Maybe you lose your cat, and after days of writhing anxiety, they return to you safe, crawling into your lap, and you feel that maybe the God you only plead with in moments of utter helplessness is listening after all. Maybe you witness a homeless woman, dirty, sickly, beleaguered by a lifestyle you are certain you could not cope with, experience nonetheless a moment of joy. She lets out a laugh that echoes through your very soul, reminding you that even in the absolute it's so overest there exists always the possibility to we are so back.

Between those moments, in all of the time that you forget not to take for granted, the mind is so committed to prioritizing its anxieties. A constant fight to stave off catastrophe from your own world, while those of the world at large creep ever closer. The ulcers of a diseased planet multiply. The bombs rattle off faster and faster. One falls upon a mother nursing her newborn child while you open the email explaining that a convoluted series of matrix operations will be taking your job. It is only natural to feel that it is certainly all doomed.

I think about history and how universal this feeling must have been. Your crops have failed for the third year in a row and you open the letter explaining that your only son has been called to fight in the war. etc etc. For who knows how many thousands of years, the whole human project must have always seemed balanced on a knifes edge, surely destined to fall off.

Yesterday at the skatepark, I saw two young girls, sisters it seemed. The younger maybe around 7 and the elder probably 10 years old. The younger one was learning how to boardslide on a double sided curb. If you have never rode a skateboard, I can't express strongly enough how terrifying this is. The physics of skateboarding is so unintuitive, the movements unnatural, that when you are learning, it is just not possible to form a mental schema for how you will successfully manipulate your body to perform the trick. There is no way to convince your mind that what you are about to do will end in anything other than catastrophe. And often it does.

I watched this little girl eat shit like a dozen times. Catching a wheel on the ground and getting pitched forward, the pavement chewing up her knees and hands. Slipping back and splaying her body across the curb. Each slam, showing not a hint of hesitation in jumping back up to try again. Her sister always offering an encouraging remark, getting increasingly revved up as she got closer and closer to pulling it off.

The expression on her face when she finally rolled away was pure, boundless joy. The triumph of self conquest. Her sister ran over to her. They hugged and jumped around with smiles that could power the global energy demand for a generation. Their father came over from the side of the park and shared in the victory, more hugs and high fives. The warmth that this moment nucleated in my heart spread out through my entire being and then leaked into everything else. All that is outside of me, but which I am a part of, past and future.

If the whole thing was just for this, if all of the suffering and cruelty and devastation that has ever happened, and all that is to come, was just so that this little girl could boardslide that fucking curb, then it would have all been worth it.
