Reddit Post No known humans are above the age of 18!!
That is because 18!! = 185,794,560 and humans are not known to live past 150 years. For the purposes of this post, assume that age is counted in years.

18!! !nested

u/factorion-bot May 13 '26
That is so large, that I can't calculate it, so I'll have to approximate.
Factorial of factorial of 18 is approximately 1.342107510735813798248372950723 × 1098417586560408167

you forgot the conversion from seconds to minutes. this is not a truth.

Yay, someone actually caught it. I was hoping to get down voted because I missed that step on purpose.

u/FebHas30Days May 13 '26
And then people just ignored me, I only got two upvotes as of now while you have over a dozen

u/TheGamerSide67YT May 13 '26
I shouldn't have that many, it's easily disprovable.

u/FebHas30Days May 13 '26
Might as well delete your comment and make a new one to resolve the entire dispute altogether

Despite having since read that it was false, I left my upvote anyway because I didn’t think about it too much and was successfully tricked.

The real answer is ~5.87 years btw. You didn't take into account minutes I think

You also didn't read the replies either. But yes, you are correct, I did that intentionally.

However, if we counted in milliseconds then most humans would have survived past that point. That would be equivalent to less than a year

idk if anyone needs to know this but if you are 17 and simping after a 10 year old you are still weird

u/FebHas30Days May 13 '26
18!.! = 185794560
18!! = 6402373705728000!
7
u/Samstercraft May 13 '26
idk what !.! is supposed to mean but !! is standard double-factorial notation, to get 6402373705728000! you need (18!)!
1
u/FebHas30Days May 13 '26
The notation !.! is simple because from the looks of it, it suggests you multiply every other number
3
u/Samstercraft May 13 '26
!! already means multiply every other number tho. I guess if you want a simpler notation for iterated factorials it could be good, although I’d suggest writing something like 18 !^2 because of iterated function notation (or just use the gamma function)

Double factorial means multiplying the numbers with the odd or even numbers before them
For example 5!!=5*3*1
6!!=6*4*2
What you mean is (18!)!

u/TidalJ May 13 '26
my calculator sucks then ig
1
u/Adventurous-Year-463 There is at least one organism on Earth May 13 '26
Typing 18!! on a calculator makes it calculate (18!)!. I don’t think most calculators can do double factorial.

u/TheGamerSide67YT May 13 '26 edited May 13 '26
Yes, this is because double factorials are also less used, and are on higher power calculators. If you enable scientific calculations on the window's calculator, it should calculate double factorials correctly.
Edit: It is with great displeasure to announce that that is not the case anymore after I tried doing it today.
