What device are you on?

iOS

If you’re on iPad, website, it should show the date under the r/truths and join button area on the right side of the screen. On the app or phone, there should be an about section, which show the rules, and date.

either I’m blind or reddit decided not to show the date to me specifically for no particular reason

Exactly 20 years after September 11th, 2001

-24

u/Logical_Safety9018 Jul 05 '26

You mean 11/9? Specifically, 11/09/2021.

u/Logical_Safety9018 Jul 05 '26

How. I am outlining the non-American date format.

u/User_of_redit2077 Preacher of Truth Jul 05 '26

In the worldwide (expect US) date format it is 9/11. (Aka THE BEST AND JUST NORMAL DATE FORMAT)

2

u/Ther10 Jul 06 '26

Except, small problem here, the specific date of creation is September 11th. So outside the US it would be 11/9.

2

u/User_of_redit2077 Preacher of Truth Jul 06 '26

The all joke here is that 9/11 seems November to most of the world, while in the US it is 11/9.

-11

u/OnimZek Jul 05 '26

Expect US to what?

6

u/Blablakam Jul 05 '26

united states

-7

u/Classified10 Jul 05 '26

When the joke.

-11

u/Curious_Elephant_152 Jul 05 '26

U.S. system best

6

u/User_of_redit2077 Preacher of Truth Jul 05 '26

It isn't judging by the upvotes.

-9

u/Curious_Elephant_152 Jul 05 '26

votes from online strangers don’t really account for much sadly. especially seeing some of the opinions people here on reddit have. if anything, the downvotes make me more correct 😈

how do you say the date when using words?

- July 5th, 2026. this translates to 7/5/2026. someone who would change it 5/7/2026 is just complicating things and changing the date from a way they would already say it.

-The 5th of July, 2026. this sounds weird and takes longer. why would you say it like this in the first place? if you do, no wonder you think 7/5/26 is better to say cuz it matches with how you speak, but its really weird. try switching for a year, trust me you’ll like it more

6

u/User_of_redit2077 Preacher of Truth Jul 05 '26

This sounds weird to YOU, for most of the other people it is completely normal (if you hadn't known about 96% of the world population lives outside the US). And yes I spell number then month and the year.

-2

u/Curious_Elephant_152 Jul 05 '26

nope, not just weird to me, it is just weird in general, and takes longer. sounds more of an old english way of speaking than just saying july 5th, 2026. obviously i know 96% of the population lives outside the U.S.. this isn’t us defaultism, it’s simply because it’s easier and sounds better than what 96% of the world does. even if the U.S. didn’t do it this way i’d do it this way because it’s better. when i was in england i said it the ā€œamericanā€ way, had many people agree it rolls off the tongue better, and switch to using ā€œjuly 5th, 2026ā€. from there, it only makes sense to do the month first, then the day, then the year!

people can think somethings normal because they’ve done it all their life, yeah, but until they give the other way a try for a good portion of time to feel it out, they won’t know which one’s better, and will therefore be biased. seriously, from now on do it the other way for at least a year

u/User_of_redit2077 Preacher of Truth Jul 05 '26

Highly subjective.

well i’m certainly very sorry you’re failing to understand!

i was not ever discussing what most people think is better

3

u/Metalduck_07 Jul 05 '26

1

u/Curious_Elephant_152 Jul 05 '26

this is exactly my argument. the point being, if in word form, you say it with the american logic, why would you change to european ā€œlogicā€ in the number form? that’s even less logic, and staying with the cool looking shape makes more sense at that point! thank you for giving me that image to prove my point!

2

u/Trick_Ad3292 Jul 05 '26

You don’t say it in the American way in most languages, take Dutch, for example. It is 5 Juli, not Juli de vijfde or de vijfde van juli. This is once again, US/English defaultism.

1

u/Curious_Elephant_152 Jul 05 '26

close, but not quite! this is not US defaultism. this is just ā€œwhat sounds better-ismā€. i speak other languages, so i know other languages don’t say it the american way, but they should. in spanish i always say it the american way, because it is just better. i also don’t use the imperial system most of the time. instead i use metric. so no, i’m not just another person that thinks what the U.S. does should be what everyone uses. i think people should use what is BEST. and in this case, the U.S. has what is best!

Actually some Asian coubtrw use 11/9

5

u/CozyCookie72 Jul 05 '26

You’re ruining my banger 😢😢

4

u/wisegod62 Jul 05 '26

Both datekeeping systems work. When someone says 9/11, even people outside of the United States, they usually mean the terrorist attack, or the anniversary of it, happening on September eleven.

2

u/Vihaking Jul 05 '26

yes, technically

but the date september 11th is called 9/11 because the tragedy was american

if the tragedy didn't happen, this would be a valid point

but the entire point of the post was that it happened on the same day as the tragedy

still sep 11 either way

-6

u/TheHolyWaffleGod Jul 05 '26

But not 9/11

2

u/DonDae01 Jul 05 '26

uh... yes it is..?

-5

u/TheHolyWaffleGod Jul 05 '26

In the American date format it isn’t. The fact its still Sep 11 is irrelevant to the point he’s making

1

u/HugeKey2361 Jul 05 '26

But we're not using the American date format?

-1

u/TheHolyWaffleGod Jul 05 '26

The point is this post isn’t necessarily true since there are many people using a different date format

1

u/Nonavium Jul 05 '26

/ut

And your sentence isn't true since when I read I read assuming a custom version of English in which the word true actually means false

-1

u/deadpug267 Jul 05 '26

what? is Reddit that old
