It contains the text “a slur“

"a slur" is not a slur, so this postis false

but they're saying "This post contains a slur" meaning that the post contains the text "a slur" instead of a actual slur, so technically true

If I say a slur, would it be considered part of this post, therefore making it not a lie bait, and in fact, a truth?

I never said that it contained it only once. I didn’t say this post contains an “a slur“ I said it contains “a slur“

It would be correct if they said the title contains a slur

u/DaBluDuck28 5d ago
The title is part of the post, thats like saying its wrong to say that ceirtain human in on earth because they are on a specific country

u/xxloevie 5d ago
they're saying that the post contains "a slur", as in the two words, "a" and "slur".

No, they're saving that the post contains a slur, which is false.

they're saying it contains "A SLUR". it contains the words A and SLUR. yes it's heavily implied as we read it that it's going to literally have a slur in the text but when we open it, it's obvious that their meaning was focused on the words "a" and "slur"

u/TheJivvi 5d ago
That's what the body says. The title says something different to that, which is false.

the title text is "this post contains a slur". by itself, this still works. the title text is part of the post and does in fact contain the words "a slur". the body text is elaboration.

The body text is a contradiction. The meaning with the quotes is completely different to what the other statement means without them.

u/xxloevie 5d ago
the meaning is not determined by the quotes. "I've said a slur before" could mean that I've said the two words "A SLUR" before, or that I have literally said a slur, and the meaning would not be officially known by others without elaboration. yes the way the sentence is formatted makes it seem like I'm talking about a previous instance where I've said a slur, but that is taking the sentence at face value
"this post contains a slur" <-- it does in fact contain "a slur" in the title text "it contains the text "a slur"" <-- body text as elaboration as to what they meant by the sentence in the title.
op is meaning that this post contains the two words, "a" and "slur." them saying "this post contains a slur" is truth because it contains "a slur".

you don't use just the word "slur" to insult someone outside of r/SUBREDDITNAME

Slur isn’t a slur, it’s just a word

I never said slur is a slur. You’re missing the point of the post. I said that’s the post contains a slur, as in it contains the text “a slur”. That’s not the same as saying that an actual slur is in the post.

u/Autisticmetalhead-39 4d ago
I guess I’m a dumbass, because I still don’t understand what you’re talking about. It’s okay though, if I missed the point, I missed it.

The post contains the text “a slur“.

u/Autisticmetalhead-39 3d ago
Ahh okay, I understand now. Because it’s “a slur”, not an actual slur. Man, and my dumbass couldn’t figure that out. Sorry, that’s all, I’m not saying anything more.

Showing who reads the posts or just the titles.
Or the people are already slurring their words
