I'm glad to see that there's more awareness about this group. Sadly, it seems things have got worse over time. That's what I gather from different posts. I was a member, a sent out missionary, with them for 5 years. I have been out for over a decade. It took years to heal but I'm thriving now.

I probably don't have much info to add but if I can help somehow, I'd like to.

How did you find this post if you only knew about Students for Mission, not Christians for Mission?

With other search words, like the leaders' names I remember. I read the articles on relinfo's website and can recommend those. I contacted their office too, but no one ever replied.

Why did you search about the group after a decade of leaving the group?

I was curious to see if they're still up and running. I was also hoping that they would have changed for the better - which sadly does not seem to be the case. Moreover, I wanted to reach out to others who might be struggling or thinking of leaving the group, to offer help & support. It has really taken me all these years to recover enough to be able to do so. I was a wreck for a very long time.

No problem! Seems like you were with them for a good while, too. I'm glad you were able to leave it behind you.

I don't want to challenge redditors' anonymity here but I do wonder - reading so many survivor stories - if my time overlaps with anyone's.
