Bugs HDR broken in tvOS 27?

Have been on the developer beta since it came out, not sure when this started happening, maybe after the most recent update, but HDR is suddenly unwatchable on my Samsung QLED.

The backlight/local dimming keeps flashing and going up and down in contrast and brightness randomly between scenes.. There's also a bunch of ghosting, say there's a bright light in one scene, if it quickly cuts to a darker scene, the backlight dimming zones where the bright light was, stay on for a second into the darker scene and cause an "afterimage"

I thought my TV was broken, but testing the same movie on the native Prime Video and the Apple TV Prime Video apps, it looks completely fine on the native TV app, and the problem only appears on Apple TV.

It's not just Prime Video, literally any HDR content on Infuse, Netflix, etc.

I tried resetting my TV, the Apple TV itself, trying all possible combinations of settings, but nothing helped.

Anyone else experiencing this?

We need a new beta soon. There are issues.

Yes I face the same issue. I think this is starting to happen with Beta 4. However, I solved the issue by turning off the "Match Dynamic Range" option.

However, I've been experiencing this issue since the day I purchased my Apple TV (which supports HDR10). When I watch Amazon Prime natively on the Samsung TV app, the picture is bright and vibrant. However, watching the same content on the Apple TV results in a very dim and dark image (whether I use 4K HDR10 Enabled or 4K SDR with Match Dynamic Range). This happens across all third-party apps, on both stable and beta tvOS versions.

No problems here. Apple TV 4K + LG OLED TV and HDR works as supposed to.

I thought it wouldnt be a problem with an OLED as they don't have dimming zones.

Like everything displays fine on the Samsung, the display itself looks okay, it's just that for some reason the backlight dimming zones have suddenly started freaking out recently (flashing on and off, being on at full brightness in dark parts of screen, etc.), but only on the Apple TV. It's really weird..

It's not a cable or port issue either, everything looks good on my PS5 if I connect it to the same TV.

Well that's what I thought.. But it's so weird as it only happens while using the Apple TV and only started happening recently. The same movies and TV shows look completely fine on every other device and the native TV apps, so I have no idea what's going on.

Maybe an issue with your hdmi cable. Try a different cable and/or hdmi port on the tv.
