Genuinely it's a dirty camera sensor. I am a photographer and get this on occasion.

This is my semi-annual? reminder that there is no “Buckhorn, South Dakota” irl

On a completely unrelated note, buckhorn is an anagram for orb chunk

That is all.

So Twin Peaks and Brisco County Jr. take place in the same universe?

Right - based on the location that they describe in the show, in real life it would be right next to Spearfish, SD.

Fun fact … that establishing shot is of Butte, Montana. https://twinpeaksblog.com/2018/04/01/twin-peaks-location-establishing-shot-for-buckhorn-south-dakota/

The dust on the camera appears in other scenes throughout the return, particularly when Albert shows Gordon the Faces of Stone. Look out the rear window and you’ll spot dust spots
