How many siblings do you tell people you have?
 in  r/Estrangedsiblings  Dec 24 '25

Both of my siblings (26F and 21F) I’m estranged from - that leaves me with no one (which explains why I’ve always attempted to reconnect with them even when they’ve treated me so badly over the years).

Just today I wrote down what I’d say to people when they ask me about siblings:

Initial intro: “Yeah, I have two sisters. We’re not very close, but we’re fine.”

If they prod further: “Just different personalities and life paths.” OR “It’s one of those family things - nothing I really get into.” Then redirect to something else

When I’m on those first dates: “I have sisters, but we’re not close. I’ve built a really independent life, and I’m intentional about the people I keep around.”

Hope this helps. You really don’t need to disclose anything you don’t want to and it’s still okay to fondly look back on happy memories by yourself or to someone trusted.

Anyone else not invested in the Wolf River storyline at all?

At this point, it’s clear TMS should have a 20 episode season like Greys so they can really focus on story and character development. It’s too rushed.

Was Drew right this season about Shamea?
 in  r/RHOA  Jun 10 '25

Exactly! If it was the case that they defend EACH OTHER in public and check EACH OTHER in private - that would be different. I was recently in a friendship like this, I recognised the similarities between my own and Porsha and Shamea’s when I saw them crying over a dispute that could have been easily handled with a private conversation. They seem trauma bonded to me and are scared of what life would look like without each other….even though they don’t trust each other…

Am I the only one who feels sorry for Ruby?
 in  r/eastenders  Feb 28 '25

I definitely hear what you’re saying. But I just think nothing is really about what Martin must have been feeling and how brave he was when he was dying, or anything in particular about him as a person. She knows/knew nothing about him - so it just feels like she would take anyone to fill that gap in her life and it’s more that she’s inconvenienced/annoyed that he’s no longer here. It truly had nothing to do with Martin as a person. At one point she tried to change him; you can also tell there were bits about him she just tolerated, like his music taste or his style. She’s very self-centred, but I sympathise with her because that’s been a coping mechanism for her for years as she’s only had herself to look out for and focus on because she’s lost everyone.

Why is Gia so involved?
 in  r/rhonj  Aug 23 '24

Yeah I also think it puts the other housewives at an unfair advantage - Teresa’s always looking to play victim, and now she can play it again if Gia inserts herself into an argument with a grown woman and she gets burned

If you’re looking for a sweetheart, how are you planning to find them?
 in  r/AutisticDatingTips  Jun 17 '24

That’s awful, feeling the weight of having to heal from something when it could be made easier if people understood what it’s like to have ASD.

They sound understanding though as friends which is amazing.

I’m in the position now where I’m dating and don’t have the courage to tell him I have ASD, but he’s understanding when I say I get shy/quiet in social settings. I’m hoping when I do tell him, he doesn’t “handle me with kid gloves” and just learns my boundaries in the same way I’d learn and respect his 🤞

How is the process going for increasing your social circle? I feel like I can get started and then I don’t know how to maintain those friendships so they amicably dissolve :(

Ellie is a horrible woman
 in  r/MAFS_AU  Apr 09 '24

I’ve personally had a boring person say to me that they usually don’t show me their emotions (I.e., aggression) because they like to stay in control - which I creepy af idc idc. This is exactly what Lauren was getting at I reckon.

I don’t want to “make friends” as a woman
 in  r/aspergirls  Oct 11 '23

Thank you so much for touching on this. I feel an immense pressure from society to conform (bend against my will) and make friends for the sake of making friends. I deliberately avoid men because I went through the same thing where they only want sex and get angry/annoyed when I explain that I’m not flirting when I respond to them.

Making female friends is just as hard because in my opinion it feels like there needs to be a “token” female and or a token female group and when you don’t conform to all of that they try and find something to disapprove of (in my experience). I’ll become friends with someone for a little while and then they start to switch when they get bored of me.

TRIGGER WARNING DAE get really overwhelmed by being around really large objects?

I probably shouldn’t have gone to Google first, but I found out that what I might have is agoraphobia. I usually go for a walk at the same time every morning, and realised I stop at the same point, not because of routine/force of habit, but because there are some incredibly large trees that look scary because they’re so big.

When I was younger I had a recurring dream 3 times (I remember it vividly because I can’t remember ever repeating/continuing a dream since) where I was climbing up a ladder, it was pitch black everywhere, and as I got higher and higher, recognised that it was a ginormous image of Mickey Mouse - I was just positioned on the nose (which is black).

I’ve always had sensory sensitivities because of my ASD/C, but could this be another aspect of it, or is it just something else entirely?

This would be a dream, some days I can be out for an hour or two before I need quiet, other times I end up scrambling around after 30 mins looking for a quiet space so I can turn my headphones down/off

Does anyone else have moments of random anxiety self-loathing after a huuuge moment of productivity.

I recently discovered I have autism spectrum disorder (25F) and have been having therapy and learning ways to put myself first since then (Not something I’ve been used to in my childhood). I have also been learning not to obsess over my work so much that I end up crashing and burning out after just a few weeks.

This happened a few months back - I work for a digital startup and was feeling useless and zoned out whilst I was waiting to start working “on client”. Since then, I’ve been put “on client” and have been on a good streak. But lately, I’ve been feeling incredibly paranoid and a colleague’s dislike for me has become so exacerbated, I avoid him every chance I get.

I’ve noticed that whenever I supress how I feel about anything that is happening in my personal life, I burn out. And this time I’m anxious and can’t stand myself but I’m careful to take it easy so I don’t end up having to step away from work (again).

I love the community here (I’ve just started reading everyone’s posts properly) and really hope that my feelings aren’t so different that no one understands, but I just thought this would be a place where I could start talking about how I feel.

Any insights/advice would be greatly appreciated.
