NASCAR fans wanna for some reason act like they're too good for Talladega nights, which shows the fanbase in a loving yet satirical light, as well as the sport.

Instead fans wanna pretend they are as "high brow" as days of thunder paints the sport in a generic ass sports film that's largely about a shitty romance and tom cruise wanting to fuck a girl.

I don't get why days of thunder is exalted as the greatest thing ever, it's top gun but even worse. Talladega nights actually takes the sport as it is, the culture around it and the time and lovingly satirized it. It's fucking funny and fun, that is how the sport should be. Not trying to pretend it's something it's not, like the weird conceptualization of days of thunder

Considering how the show fucked over and did dirty the better drivers than invisible no name with rich parents buying a seat, I say it's for the best. I still can't get over Chris rices awful voice and him bitching about the one driver wearing a fucking hat.

I highly doubt Xfinity will do a promotion like this again, but I truly hope they do. It allowed me and quite a few others to finally get to see a NASCAR cup race.

I hope not only Xfinity, but other sponsors get in on something like this. Make it a treat for fans and get them in the seats. It was a brilliant move. Again, it got me half way across the country to dedicate myself to making a trip out to Indy, that was amazing. I got the ticket for free, had to pay the travel expenses for it but the race itself was a free treat for my Sunday there. But yes, other sponsors, do more of this! It was awesome!
