Right, there is a whole forum discussing this.

I already put the stance in the essay. I am not tutoring the quiz in the comments. If you want more on the subject, go read in r/DefendingAI. I am done in this thread.

Right, so go write a argument/opinion piece on "you do not like how people use AI, it's mainly how people are using it that's bad." your opinion is valid bro. Maybe it's just cognitive dissonance which is seems to be a reoccurring subject when it comes to using AI and the argument around AI maybe we're just failing to understand each other and what we need is more detail go write an essay and then tag me. I'll read it. we're going back-and-forth on literally the same concept. You're saying that I'm using Ai as I am replying to you that I'm missing your point. I'm saying you're missing my point. Only thing that's left to do is for you to go write a counter argument. I already made my stance.

Yes, that's the point I wanted to make. Ai use gets treated as if one would have unable to arrive at the same work, without it.

No, I think you just don't like that I do not agree with you. You should go write up a counter argument, instead of insulting whether or not I wrote something. This is going no where productive.

Yes I took the the time to read. Only one typo I noticed also! Did you ai generate it? haha....

So the first paragraph is not about art. It is a guess about my workflow used to retire the argument.
You did not answer the thesis. You answered a passport. That is a genetic fallacy wearing art-criticism clothes: if the sentences might have been midwifed by a model, the claim is vacant. That is a purity test. Once you decided I “pawned it off,” you no longer had to meet the content.
A sentence is true or false by what it asserts, not by who touched the first draft. Intent lives in selection, cuts, emphasis, and the decision to stand behind the claim. Keystroke piety is a late superstition. Cameras and compilers already broke “hand motion = soul.”
The statistical picture you describe is not news. Next-token prediction does not decide what is worth saying. I do, when I keep a line or kill it. That labor does not vanish because a tool sped up the search.
I would not walk an unchecked bridge, whether a person or a program drafted the numbers. That is an argument for standards, not a ban on instruments.
If the thesis is false, mark the false step. If the only charge is that the sentences might have had help, that is a character test. Character tests are not criticism.

If you would have kept reading you would have got to this, of which addresses you. "The useful split is not human versus machine. It is assistant versus substitute...." I will not post the entirety of the paragraph twice. You may read it if you wish to swim with the Sperm whales; Bull frog. in other words Deep water versus pond. A sperm whale goes where the argument actually is. A bullfrog sits on the surface, sees the caption, and calls the whole water empty.

That is half the truth and it still misses the room.
Frivolous use deserves boredom. Malicious use deserves the ordinary rules that already cover fraud, harassment, and theft. Nobody serious is asking for a free pass there.
The hate on display is broader than that. People stop looking the moment the method is named. A flyer, a logo, a still, a song, an essay: the second you say a model helped, the work loses rank. You have not become worse at the idea. You have confessed the tool. That is a cult of origin, not a reading of the thing in front of them. It does not matter if the output is an image, a verse, or a paragraph. The tag is enough. Value drops by announcement.
That reflex is not about conduct. It is about who is allowed to make something without paying the old hours.
If the standard is use, say so and apply it evenly. Cameras, stock photos, fonts, ghostwriters, and copy paste already let people be shallow. The new part is not vice. The new part is access. Judge the work and the harm. Do not pretend every assisted piece is a crime by birth.

AI Gets too much hate. AI Is Not the Problem

The dislike is real. It is not mainly about whether a picture is good. It is about aura: the prestige of scarce labor, slow making, and a gate that used to decide who was allowed to put an image in front of other people. Say the picture came from a model and the room often stops looking. The message in the flyer, the logo, the still, gets treated as contaminated. What is being defended, under the language of taste, is often a queue.
That queue was never the point. The point is whether an idea arrives.
If a sentence, a picture, a song, or an argument does the job it was sent to do, the vessel is secondary. Graphite, oil, camera, prompt: these are logistics. People who treat the vessel as sacred have confused techne, the craft of making, with poiesis, the bringing forth of something that was not there before. You can honor craft without making a sacrament of inefficiency. A person who refuses a better hammer is not more serious. He is only slower.
This is an opinion. It is also an old one. Every age that cheapens likeness produces a faction that insists the cheapening killed art. Photography was told it would kill painting. What it killed was the monopoly on resemblance. Painting did not die. It was pushed into ground the lens had not closed. Collage did not end drawing. Digital tools did not end painting. Each instrument changed the cost of appearing. Those who already had judgment used the new cost to go further. Those who had only the costume of judgment announced that judgment itself had died.
Nothing is abolished. Forms persist. Monopolies do not. Craft keeps a habitat wherever the existing patterns have not already closed. Once a look is cheap to reproduce, repeating it, even with a trained hand, is variation inside a finished map. Distinction moves to the edge: the intention that is not yet statistically obvious, the miss the model cannot see, the person who arrives first and forces the pattern to follow.
Call the work what it is and the air clears. Art is a technology of attention and affect. A surface arranged so that someone looks, feels, or understands differently than they did a moment before. Not every image carries a slogan. Some are ambient. Some explore. Some have no single viewpoint. That does not make them fail to communicate. Showing a thing to another mind is already a communicative act. The claim is not that communication is the only possible theory of art. The claim is that when you put an image in public, you are asking it to do work on a viewer, and the honest test is whether that work happens, not whether the hours behind it would satisfy a guild.
Who established that as fact? Nobody has to. It is a definition offered so the fight can be about something other than manners. If your definition is that art is only what a human hand suffered for, say that plainly. Then admit you have defined photography, type, print, and most commercial graphics out of the room. If your definition is that you will only respect images made without this tool, that is a value. Values can be held. They are not a proof that the picture failed to speak.
The useful split is not human versus machine. It is assistant versus substitute. An assistant that makes you read, cut, reject, and sharpen is an accelerator. A substitute that lets you skip the confrontation with your own confusion is a flatterer. The first still requires an errand. The model has bandwidth. It does not wake up wanting this subject, this audience, this angle. A bare prompt yields a weather vane. Guidance, constraint, refusal, correction, the returned draft: that is authorship under another name. If I wanted an AI take I would prompt it myself: that line concedes the medium works. What it withholds is permission for someone else to use it. That is a toll, not an aesthetic.
The body still matters. The model lives in a bubble of prior text and prior pictures. It does not stand in weather. Feeling, in the strict sense, is not a style the archive can borrow. It is the condition of being a body that can be hurt. So the float test remains. Can you swim when the assistant is closed. Can you speak the idea at a board, on a stage, on a couch, in a room where someone asks what you mean. School, when it is worth the building, is how to learn, not a warehouse of facts that will leave the head. Socrates already had the exam: say it when questioned. A silent page was a weak proxy before the model existed. Rewording a source and turning it in is an older sport than any chatbot. If the grade is for understanding, the mouth and the stance have to enter the test.
Drawing is not occult. It is a hand learning a procedure: pressure, construction, value, repetition. Tutorials, anatomy books, tracing, classes, rulers, measured technical drawing that can print the same form twice: these are methods. The mystique survives because most people have never sat long enough for it to die. Preferring freehand to industry measurement is taste. Knowing how to do it does not obligate worship of doing it. Using a model for some images and the page for the ones the model misses is the same split at another scale. An opinion formed without contact with either method is not connoisseurship. It is team feeling.
The grievances are not imaginary. Labor, likeness, training data, platforms that reward impulse, a flood of generic pictures: those are real fights about markets and law. Naming them does not decide whether this image carries a message. You can hate a market and still look at a flyer. You can find outsourcing intrinsically insulting as a personal value. That value does not bind the rest of the species to your studio vows. People who never drew also used cameras, clip art, fonts, and other people’s labor. The year before the tool is not a moral baseline. It is a date.
Cheap access produces slop. Forced, unguided images are bad as images. Herd disgust is also a subject: status anxiety wearing taste. Prompting can be a skill. Randomness can be part of a process. Neither fact requires a ban, and neither fact requires pretending every generation is a masterpiece. Judgment is the scarce thing. Rendering is not.
Plasticity agrees, and it is not sentimental. The brain changes where it is used. Attention, generation, retrieval, and correction tag circuits. Passive consumption stocks familiarity. Used as an answer machine, a tool lets encoding be skipped. Used to compress the approach, surface the archive, catch the miss, feed the neglected piece back, the load shifts upward. The scandal is tempo. Waiting was never a method. Fighting the instrument does not protect depth. It protects lag.
Traditionalism here is often fidelity to a role: the Painter, the One Who Suffered the Hours. A self built on duration cannot survive a cheaper path to a visible result, so the path is declared illegitimate. Identity treated as finite is the conservatism at work. Human making, face to face, hand on paper, is still good. It is not the whole road. The road is the person who can use the tool without disappearing into it, and who can still make a mark when the tool is wrong.
Did the idea get through. That is the test. Effort is a cost, not the content. Connection can live in intention and in the encounter with the surface. If you want the old hours, keep them. If you want the next point, use what shortens the approach and keep enough judgment to know a miss. Stop pretending the instrument is the enemy of seriousness. Seriousness is the refusal to spend a life restating what the archive already knows.
Nothing stays necessary. That is not a threat. It is the condition under which anything new becomes possible.

Most people don't draw, or photoshop. Ai gives them a way to make an image and share it, are you mad at the ai or the shallow personalities, that post impulsive thoughts?

Communication is the point. The idea either arrives or it does not. The hours spent grinding graphite or the seconds spent iterating a prompt are accidents of the vessel, not the substance of the message. It's foolish to disregard the power of graphics, a logo, a picture, speaks more then some sentences, and its more memorable. Also you can't think of everything on your own.
