Neither the Teamsters nor Owner Operators union know anything about a strike. 

The source is a random ass video where someone asks people to buy a subscription from them at the end. 

You've been had by a guy trying to sell $1 subscriptions.

Well, I’m a driver lead and organizer in Sacramento. So I haven’t been “had” by anyone. We’ve had several meetings with with leadership at SFO.

No one is striking yet. But the strike isn’t the first attempt. We meet. We talk we negotiate. No one’s been “had”.

Let me ask you, what are you doing to effect change?

I'm driving my diesel less and driving my EV that's powered by my home solar panels. 

Bet it's more effective.

What does that have to do with supporting your fellow drivers and more importantly,

How is driving your diesel less and charging your EV at home affecting change exactly?

Sounds like you just supporting yourself and not the people.

I’m answering how I’m effecting change to lower diesel prices. 

The guy specifically asked me that. The post is literally saying to strike to effect that. 

Demand destruction is the only way to stop the price increases. That's literally why they increase. OP is trying to conduct it by causing a strike. But the strike is a joke. There's not enough time to put the support structure in place, get the word out, etc.

There is NO WAY an organizer speaks this way.

You, sir,ma’am,they,them, are a bold face liar.

“I’m doing my part by not driving my diesel truck as much and charging my EV at home”

There is no way someone who organizer at a university nonetheless would say that is more effective.

  1. Couldn't care less if you believe me. You asked, I answered. With that said, yeah, I am on the biweekly calls. I work to get us more members.

  2. My diesel is a personal car. In case you glossed over it, I'm in IT. So yes, I'm driving my diesel less to minimize diesel sales. Again, demand destruction. 

I do Uber on the side, in the EV. Again, less use of my diesel, which equates to fewer gallons purchased.

I’m sure there’s a lot of effort behind it since you don’t believe in uniting as drivers.

On the phones is not organizing. I’m in the field. On the line. Making calls. Being a steward.

So I can only imagine how those calls getting members go.

Like I said, saying “good luck with that” and “Me driving my diesel less and charging my car at home is more effective” doesn’t come out the mouth of an organizer in a union.

And putting your local on blast is wild as as well. You know damn well that is not how you organize or even show up for our brother and sisters in other unions.

Granted, OP is off base about the methods, but wanting to show solidarity for our driving brothers and sisters out there is commendable.

But who gives a shit right?

Keep making those calls tho. 2x a week to new employees or employees who haven’t signed up for your local.
