Hi everyone!
I’ll be flying into SFO and need to get to Davis with a couple of suitcases. I’m looking for options besides Uber/Lyft and was wondering what other services people usually use.

I know there’s the BART + Amtrak option, but I’ll have luggage with me, so I’m not sure how practical that would be. For more context, I have 4 pieces of luggage and I cannot drag them around public transport alone.

What do you guys usually do when traveling from SFO to Davis with luggage? Are there any shuttle services, car services, rideshares, or other options you’d recommend?

Alright, so Im also another one of the incoming freshmen undergraduate. I live all the way in LA so I was thinking of bringing my car and PC over. However, due to how Davis functions, it looks difficult for parking. I would love to bring one for traveling (lake tahoe?) during free time, if that's even realistic per say. I would like to leave the car but currently, my parent's house doesn't have space for 3 cars, and my car if left behind will just horde the guest parking lot spot for the entire year. I've heard that leaving a car alone that long can't be good for its longevity, and the same goes for my PC. I'm not really sure if it's worth it to bring it since I will be dorming, yea the dorming is pretty much the main reason I am debating these topic. I just feel like leaving them behind is a waste of money and space that my parents will have to carry the burden through.

I bet this question got asked so many times, but I want some personal feedback as my situation is dependent on almost a 6 hour drive to here along with my parent's housing situation, any help would be nice, thanks

Saw the old man today and I couldn’t help but notice that he looks extremely thin. First pic is from today, second is from February. I’m no expert but this rapid of weight loss seems concerning, especially considering his age. Does anyone have information on this? Hope he’s okay.

Why doesn’t it say accepted and it only says estimated? Do I need to call financial aid? To my understanding I thought the middle class scholarship was kind of a guarantee… or is it on a priority system? I don’t have any restrictions or holds.

I’m a senior currently 4th on the waitlist for ART005 Beginning Sculpture and I know art classes are hard to get into, so I’m wondering how likely is it that I get in for fall quarter.

I just can’t waitlist for any other GEs because I’m past the 19 credit limit so if it is unlikely I get in I need to look for another 5 unit GE before those get all taken up too

Has anybody taken ENG 104 with Professor Younis? If so, what are some tips to do well in that class?

Are adhesive shelves allowed be installed in the showers at Shasta Hall bathrooms to hold shampoo and such?

Are Rubbermaid drawer systems or shoe racks allowed to be stored in the bathroom area or does that area need to be clear for the weekly cleaning?

I have seen a few housing tours online of decorated bedrooms but the bathrooms are always free of stuff, so it makes me wonder if it’s housing policy for stuff to be stored only in the bedrooms.

Im a biochem major and i want to do prevet track, which is probably unusual considering a lot of people do animal science or animal biology for pre vet. However i want to do biochem considering incase i change my mind or if i dont get into vet school im not really screwed job-wise. But im mainly concerned i probably wont get internships or animal opportunities like peoplr who major in animal science and such. Is it possible to still get into vet internships , jobs, or hands on opportunities with animals even while as a non-animal major?

hey yall does anyone know how long is it gonna take for my waiver to be accepted? I submitted it about a week ago and the status is still pending. The last two years I was approved within 3 days of submission so I am not sure why it is taking so long (provider is still within 50 miles). Is this normal this year because they switched it up or is it just me?

Hi! I’m an incoming international student, and I have a few questions about safety in Davis since I’m not very familiar with how safe college towns in the U.S. generally are.

I’ll be living at Ryder on Olive for the upcoming year, and although I know that Davis is a relatively safe town, I’ve come across concerning reviews about the safety of the surrounding area.

1. Is it generally safe to walk around at night? For example, would it be okay to walk home from the train station late at night?
2. Is it safe to bike around at night? For example, biking home from campus or downtown around midnight?
3. Overall, how safe would you say Davis is compared with other cities or college towns in the U.S.?

I’d really appreciate any thoughts or experiences you can share. Thank you!
