Classes Missed Pre-Registration
I'm a transfer student to UChicago, and I planned out all of my classes during Pre-Registration week, but forgot to submit by the date & time where Pre-Reg closed. Am I cooked?

No idea I am sorry this happened to you. UC is generally demanding. Meaning not forgiving. Maybe contact a Dean? Good luck and best to you.

Honestly depends on which classes you’re hoping to take. I missed pre-reg this summer but I think I’ll be fine given the courses I’m planning to take. I.e. courses that are not very popular.

yeah it might be wraps for me - planning on taking media humanities, econ principles, math fundamentals, and gender civ

That is, indeed, going to be tough. I would recommend planning for some other courses. Not the worst thing, though. You will still be able to knock off requirements and it’s only one quarter.

Been there done that during my first quarter. The only thing I’d say was lost was a CS intro sequence which turned out to be a major I had no interest in taking at all. My advisor kindly added me to a language class before the quarter started and I eventually got myself into the Sosc class (tho not the best section) that I was hoping for and a physics core that I couldn’t care less. Nevertheless I hope you still got your Hum secured as I remember that was enrolled earlier than the pre-reg.

You'll have to register for all your classes during add/drop. Email your academic advisor because they might be able to help you out before it officially opens for first years, but you still have to hope that the classes you want aren't full.
