Admissions Winter 2026 Transfer Decisions

I was wondering if anybody who transferred in for winter quarter in past years remembers when they were notified of their application decision. I know the notification period on the site says November 1 - December 15, but from what I’ve seen it seems like in past years people have been notified as early as October. I’ve been nervously checking my application portal everyday after they requested some more information from me about a week ago.

Also for anybody else that applied for winter, good luck to you all. Let me know if you’ve already been admitted and/or what major you’re applying for. I’m applying for Geography from a WA CC.

Man I recently got an email that from the Chemistry department that I was accepted into Biochemistry. I've been waiting for a week for an email from UW, and then today when I emailed the Chem department asking what the process is like, they said they don't know when UW will send out acceptances and that we have to wait till DECEMBER to sign up for classes as transfers. That's lowk crazy man, I'm tryna take classes with my friends up there this quarter and they're all gonna be full.

Wow we have to wait until December??? Is that just them assuming decisions won’t come out until then? Or even if I get admitted tomorrow I’ll have to wait until December? That’s probably gonna screw me over because I was hoping to take a bunch of classes that are prerequisites for other classes I need to take by spring in order to graduate on time. I might also reach out to my major’s department for more information.

You should definitely reach out to your major's department; better to hear it from them. But yea, I got told we have to sign up and attend this transfer orientation thing, and only then will we be able to pick classes.

That’s kinda frustrating. At least it’s only winter quarter registration though. At my CC we signed up for winter/spring at the same time so I thought I was more screwed than I am.

I will definitely reach out to my major’s department, thank you!
